We stayed overnight at the Varsity hotel. A fantastic location right on the Camb where all the punts go out. It was the perfect place in the heart of Cambridge for an overnighter, or a longer stay. The rooms were very good. Bathroom small but everything was lovely and clean. The rooftop bar was the most lively and lovely place to watch the sun setting whilst sipping a cocktail. The place is well located, with a number of convenience stores located around it. The in-room setup and bed is a bit basic, and the walls a little light, so if other guests are loud you will hear it. But good value for money for Cambridge.
An old fashioned guest house in a good location near Cambridge train station.Good communication when booking.Small onsite car park.Lounge and dining area might suit longer term guests.No breakfast served but Costa around the corner.Rooms and corridors in original section are a tired and need a good revamp felt like sleeping over at granny's house circa 1975!Room 4 family room tiniest shower room in the world ask for room 5 as much bigger.Price made it a good choice ?
