A really handy pub with a few rooms to stay at when visiting the Hixton Conference centre, Genome Campus or Duxford.Just be careful using Google Maps to drive down local lanes to the Genome Campus/Hixton as the lane on the shortest route is closed at the railway track.
What an absolute gem of a place. Our room was really cosy but with plenty of space. Very nicely decorated and the bed was very comfortable.The food was delicious. Our evening meal was enormous but really well cooked and presented, plus very reasonably priced. Breakfast was continental and there was plenty of it, with really good ingredients.We found this by sheer chance/luck but would definitely come back again. Only reviewing the pub, not the rooms.One of our locals. Nice pub feel with low ceilings, a typical central bar, tables and a fireplace. Quiet thanks to carpet, so you can have a conversation.There’s a handy car park and beer garden at the back.Friendly staff. Recommended.Food & drinks: Special reduced menu / price earlier in the week but no compromise on hearty food.Walking in can be tricky for a table. You may need to book to guarantee one.
