Absolutely fabulous birthday lunch in this beautiful restaurant. The food was amazing and rhe staff were really lovely. Our first visit here but won't be our last.Thankyou Johnny and all staff for making it special.

Having moved from the area two years ago, we were looking forward to our return visit to this cosy pub. But we were disappointed that the set menu was not available for lunch and several dishes were off the main menu, including the pork sausages. Also there was only one choice of starter and main on the fish menu. And what has happened to the bread that used to be brought to the table free of charge? Cheerful service but we don’t think there’s a chance it could be Pub of the Year at the moment.

Wonderful pub and restaurant in lovely Hemmingford Grey. Enjoyed a birthday lunch for a group of 8 shortly after Christmas. Restaurant is cozy with a charming fire place. The food was excellent. For starters had the duck parcel which is a must get. Lunch included the slow cooked pork belly which was very good and tasty. My partner had the venison pie which was similarly tasty and would order both again. The pub side of the restaurant was cozy with nice selection of beer and cocktails. Well worth a visit if in the area.

Superb lunch at The Cock: Comfortable with a nice winter ambience and open fire. Delicious food, nice professional staff and prompt service. My favourite was the fabulous sausage and mash drowned in onion gravy and the apple and blackberry crumble which was awesome. Will go back again!

We had a last minute cancellation elsewhere due to a power cut. As we wanted to celebrate a special birthday we were fortunate enough to find a table here. The service (from Sheridan and Nikos) was faultless and made us all feel very welcome - even delivering a tequila shot for the birthday boy to cap off a lovely and memorable evening. Thank you.

My husband and I had a wonderful Sunday lunch at The Cock yesterday. We generally visit a couple of times each year. Yesterday’s meal was excellent (as usual). The restaurant was really busy but the staff were very attentive and made our visit special. Although quite pricey, the food and service were worth every penny. Thank you.
Went for Sunday roast. Took the beef and chicken pie. Both were very good. Nice service and atmosphere in the restaurant

After a walk on a very sunny September day we came here for lunch. It was excellent. Mussels, sausage and mash and sticky toffee l pud shared with my partner. The sausages were really yummy, the best, and the mash was so buttery and herby. One of the very best sausage and mash I have ever had. Glad we came here! Such a comfortable pub with willing staff.

We cycled from st Ives and popped in on the way back glad we did. Sat outside beautiful garden the sun was shining. The staff so friendly. We had a 2 course lunch excellent value it was fantastic loved it. We would definitely visit again.

Fantastic. Sat in the pub, authentic English pub experience. Had SUPERB sausage and mash. My wife ordered the same, but with a different kind of sausage and a different sauce. We loved both.
