We recently visited The Mermaid for our daughter's birthday lunch. We sat in the bay window and were kept toasty warm with a roaring ? The service was exemplary and the food was delicious. We will certainly visit again.Food & drinks: Delicious! Well worth a visit!

The Mermaid was packed with patrons sheltering from torrential rains, but the restaurant found me a seat right away. The atmosphere was friendly and cozy, the beer selection was premium, and the food was well done. The homemade chicken liver pâté deserves its own review: it was so smooth and buttery, I would have believed it was foie gras. It was unbelievable.

Met up with friends half way and chose this pub based on reviews. We were not disappointed. we had a lovely sunday lunch. The staff was friendly and attentive. the food was good and the portions were abundant. The log fire made it even more applealing. thank you Mermaid.

We arrived unannounced at The Mermaid. For the first time. We were welcomed wonderfully by the front of house. He showed us to our table and ensured all was well. The menu, including a specials board, was excellent. The food was perfect. The service was better. Sadly, we do not live nearby so this was a one off. But the memory we have is delightful. And great value for money. A real treat. Thank you The mermaid.

Aware that they also have accommodation, which would be very convenient for the A14.One word of caution: if you want to book a table then ring them, do not rely on their website.Food & drinks: Great selection and a wide range on a specials board that comes to you, not being pinned to the wall in the far corner. Very fast service and top quality food. We will be back.

Was looking for a bite to eat as we were travelling east on the A14 and came across this gem. What a fantastic place, great food and great staff. Cannot fault it. Will be saving this the next time we're out this way, we'll worth stopping!
