I don’t know how it is possible to elevate a humble pea soup to the level they managed but it was absolutely heavenly. All the food was spectacularly good. Very nice service, and we were able to take our dog in and eat in the bar. This is a treasure of a local facility and we will be back very soon.

An excellent meal - the chef had taken quality ingredients, put them together in combinations that work and then cooked them perfectly. Smooth buttery mash was properly seasoned, a rich, generously filled game pie, an unctous smoked haddock, cheese and egg bake. Front of house were friendly and efficient. This is a warm hug of a restaurant - come here to be well fed and well looked after and for a while the cares of the world will fade into the background. I am looking forward to eating here again.

Disappointing evening meal ,sea bass ,1 small fillet ,had to wait for wine list ,wait for them to come back to take order ,poor service ,seemed like the young girl did all the work. It was such a gem in this area ,but now it's the same as anywhere else

After a lovely meal at the pheasant, a few things that would have made a more pleasant Sunday lunch. We were offered online 3.15 Sunday lunch, to which I would have presumed would give us a 2 hr slot for a relaxed lunch. We arrived and ordered a pre drink in the bar and were then told we needed to order food to get it through the kitchen. We ordered as requested and we’re then rushed to the table as our food was ready, before finishing our drink and not even being offered a wine list. All in all felt very rushed in what should have been a relaxed Sunday lunch! The food was good but spoilt by the rushed service.

This pub was set in the beautiful countryside, lovely open fire and the food was delicious. Great gluten free options too and we never waited long for anything. Perfect place for our lunch!

A first time for us at this wonderful restaurant. We all had the 3 course menu at £31. I had a charcuterie and salami salad starter, then roast beef with all the trimmings and for dessert, sticky toffee pudding with butterscotch sauce and ice cream. The food was fabulous.

Tried 5 times to call them in the space of 30 minutes on a Friday lunchtime but no answer and straight to voicemail so i presumed they were perhaps rushed off there feet .No totally the opposite !More staff than customers and when I broached the subject of “no one bothering to answer the phone “the barman just shrugged his shoulders and insinuated it wasn’t down to him and or his problem .Didn’t even have the common courtesy to apologise! No wonder there were only a handful of diners !We won’t be returning !!

Stopped here on the drive back to London; really delicious food and friendly service. They were busy and accommodated us as walk-in customers which we appreciated. I had the salmon which was cooked perfectly.

Three of us went to The Pheasant Inn for traditional Sunday lunch we were certainly not disappointed from the friendly greeting to the excellent meal. Recently lamb seems to have been absent from the areas restaurants but there it was on the menu. We all ordered Roast lamb which was served with a very good selection of vegetables and yorkshire puddings. For starters Gravadlax and the Goats cheese dish were chosen finishing off with very good coffee. All round a very good experience at a reasonable price.

Third visit today at the pheasant since the reopening. The food mixes tradition and innovation skilfully from starter to dessert. It is worth noting that the menu changes with the seasons. It is a pleasure to be able to find a delicious traditional sausage and mash or a revisited beef bourguignon. In one word the food was delicious and comes with a well picked wine and beers menu. The staff was very helpful and dedicated despite a busy room. Having booked a table for 4 plus one child we were seated in a quite corner which was very good (for us and other guests!). I warmly recommend the place. The surroundings are also very nice and worth a bit of travel if you aren't from the area.
