Used to frequently eat here once a fortnight, it was very good. Recently it changed hands, after one visit we now go eat elsewhere. The chips were undercooked, fish was half the size it usually was, got rudely told that Fish and Chips do not come with Garden Peas only Mushy Peas, even though they did Garden Peas with Scampi. Same price as before despite the drop in quality, the atmosphere is still decent but even that was better beforehand.

My husband and I went with some friends for lunch today and we had a lovely meal, got a very nice welcome and the service was great. Prices are very reasonable as well. Maria and Amy who served us were very pleasant and accommodating. Will def visit again very soon.

Used to love the food, but our recent visit was as if we were at a completely different pub. Dogs all off leads, less than welcoming greeting, glasses stacked up on the bar. But the real issue was that the food was just really poor, frozen chips, scampi and pie, we suspected and a funny tasting tomato topping on the pizza. Really hope the new owners take notice of the feedback that we and others have recently shared. Unfortunately we will not be back as Weatherspoons is better value and with the same quality.

We had the best night last Saturday at the Michael Buble tribute act night .. could not fault anything . The food was excellent and the whole night was such good value .. we will definitely be back .

A lovely pub and the food was nice but the service really let the day down. I think you may have bitten off more than you could chew with the amount of bookings on mother’s day. We had preordered our food so we thought that’s good no messing around when we get there…our waiter came over and asked us what we would like to order which is a bit odd as we had preordered so technically we had to just order our food when we got there (not sure why there was a preorder?) After a bit of a wait our orders came out but were incorrect so we had to wait yet again whilst tables that ordered well after us got their food first. It would have been nice to have been offered something to keep us going and sweeten the deal. Sadly our desert then also took such a long time to come out I had to ask (twice) for it to be boxed up to take home. I get mistakes happen and it was a busy day but the small things sometimes go a long way.

We booked to come for Mother’s Day.When we arrived, the initial service was prompt, with food and drink orders taken quickly. We were asked if we wanted 2 or 3 courses, with options to be chosen straight away as the computer system worked that way, no bother. Choices made, our starters arrived reasonably quickly. After that the service went down hill.It took 45 minutes for our table to be cleared and another 15 minutes, with some prompting, to get our mains. For some reason our 9 year old had been given an adult portion. The food was ok, good portions, though the beef was over cooked, making it quite tough and sliced very thickly.Again, it took 40 minutes to get any acknowledgement that we had finished. I asked for our deserts, to which I was presented the bill. I explained we had ordered deserts, after which we were told one wasn’t available. It still took another 15 minutes for them to arrive.Very clearly the pub was had over booked and was still taking walk ins when they couldn’t look after the large amount of customers they already had. There was zero organisation in terms of service and serving in order. A lot of people were served before us, despite arriving a long time afterwards. It took 3 hours for us to eat, which for 2 adults, 1 child and a baby is ridiculously slow.I work in the area and often discuss places to eat and this will be mentioned. We didn’t feel valued as customers.Simple mantra, under promise, over deliver, you will have happy customers. We won’t be returning.

Such a shame went for a joint celebration of mother's day for me and my daughter in law also my birthday which was the same day should have been a lovely family time together unfortunately after a promising starters which was very nice our main course arrived minus my grandsons dinner which had been forgotten to cook anybody with small children know how important it is to keep the children feed and happy which in turn makes parents and grandparents happy this definitely was not done when his food was bought out it was to hot for my 4year old grandson to eat so after this we left as the baby was also fed up of being in the highchair so long. We went to the counter to pay was asked if everything was OK but when we told the manager about the problem we were told he would tell the boss I just said he was the boss he told me I wish, unfortunately we live in the village have been up to the pub lots of times never before have we had a problem and left feeling very undervalued as a customer such a shame.

We definitely ended up in the worst seats in the house. Don’t stick people round the corner in the bar with no visibility when they’ve paid to see an act. Atmosphere poor!

It's just changed hands...staff were pleasant but I'm afraid the food was not up to the high standards as before..the lack of customers was noticeable, it used to be

Choice of sandwiches limited to just 2 and would have preferred better bread.
