Staff are very welcoming. Actually, they create a warm atmosphere. We had a small snack - egg, ham, chips and salad - and a main (fish & chips). Everything arrived piping hot and at the same time.The snack was rather straightforward but it tasted very good. A lot of good ham and very nice chips.At the Lamb & Flag they definitely know how to make very good fish & chips. The batter, the oil and the fish was perfect. The fish is light and flaky (and a good size). You could tell that the temperature of the oil had been just right. The chips were chunky and crisp.A good experience! We are not far away so will be back.

Called in for lunch and to take the dogs a walk along side the flooded wash.Dogs were so welcomed with lots of fuss and Boneo's.Lovely log fire was very welcoming and the menu was a good read.The food was delish, thanks to 'The Lamb and Flag' staff very friendly.

We are not from the area and booked ourselves in just before NYE. We loved the warm welcome at the Lamb & Flag with all the staff being amazing and always asked if we were ok. The food and drink is awesome and will definitely come back again, when we are in the area.
Lovely pub, lovely staff Just such a shame we couldn't have the vegan fish and chips as although marked as vegan, they weren't as were cooked in with the fish and chicken oil, a fact we only discovered whilst querying if the onion rings were vegan (same issue btw,so that's a no). Hopefully they'll sort this out at some point.

My wife and I found this pub on TripAdvisor and decided to give it a go. The place is best characterised as a quintessential pub with lots of interesting artefacts on display. The food was amazing, I had the steak and ale pie whilst my wife had a cheeseburger. Both were top-notch! The service was very friendly. All in all, a very worthwhile visit and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good meal in lovely surroundings

As a local villager living in Welney, with no shops, petrol stations, banks or other pubs, The Lamb & Flag supplies a much needed community meeting place along with a welcoming traditional pub atmosphere that allows its clientele to relax and chat without having to shout over TV’s, PA’s, Gambling Machine and other distractions that - more modern - pubs bombard you with. Coupled with a fine choice of drinks and local ales, along with an excellent food menu, this really is a great find for those visitors who visit this picturesque Norfolk village. The only downside is that it is closed on Monday’s and Tuesday’s, but hopefully, with visitors discovering its’ Beer Garden and warm welcome from friendly staff, that will be put right in the not too distant future
