My wife and I found this pub on TripAdvisor and decided to give it a go. The place is best characterised as a quintessential pub with lots of interesting artefacts on display. The food was amazing, I had the steak and ale pie whilst my wife had a cheeseburger. Both were top-notch! The service was very friendly. All in all, a very worthwhile visit and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good meal in lovely surroundings
As a local villager living in Welney, with no shops, petrol stations, banks or other pubs, The Lamb & Flag supplies a much needed community meeting place along with a welcoming traditional pub atmosphere that allows its clientele to relax and chat without having to shout over TV’s, PA’s, Gambling Machine and other distractions that - more modern - pubs bombard you with. Lovely pub, lovely staff Just such a shame we couldn't have the vegan fish and chips as although marked as vegan, they weren't as were cooked in with the fish and chicken oil, a fact we only discovered whilst querying if the onion rings were vegan (same issue btw,so that's a no). Hopefully they'll sort this out at some point.
