Just had a great mini-break here Staff are efficient and friendly ( special mention to Matthew in the dining room last night who was very patient and solicitous with my nut allergy) Rooms very comfortable, breakfast excellent and parking easy and nearby So nice to stay in such a Victorian Hotel with all the related paintings and sculpture Excellent value

I have stayed at this hotel before and was not overly impressed the first time, so when my friend booked it as a surprise, I was a little unsure. I needn’t have worried as our rooms were absolutely lovely. We stayed in the main hotel and I think that is what made a difference as last time we were in a building across the road. The Victorian decoration is really beautiful, we even enjoyed seeing Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, on the walls of the lift! The staff were very helpful and the breakfast was delicious. The reason that I am not giving five stars is that it was an extremely hot day and there were no fans left for a very overheated bedroom without air-conditioning. We did ask at reception and we’re just told sorry they have all gone. This is not quite good enough. It did not ruin our stay though.

We stayed here for two nights to visit and explore Chester. Staff and amenities very good. Breakfast with one dinner and a bottle of wine. Large room and bathroom with both a bath and walk-in shower. Excellent value.

We thoroughly enjoyed are stay at The Queens from the moment we arrived were we we’re greeted by the charming Eddie on reception who was warm & friendly. I was impressed by the decor and ambiance of The Queens and our superior room was lovely too. We visit Chester a couple of times and year and normally stay in other hotels but not no more now that we have found The Queens our new go to place in Chester.

We found a gem of a hotel with fabulous amenities. Car parking was easy, check in was completed in advance and reception staff lovely. Our room was as expected and we felt worth the minimal cost to upgrade to executive. We had a lovely sleep followed by the most fabulous breakfast. All staff we encountered were lovely. We loved the oasis garden hidden from the world, just right for an pre-dinner pimms.

We visited Chester for a river cruise & Sicilian wine tasting at Veenos. Our stay at the queens was fabulous, we would normally book a suite but, went for a standard room which was perfect and exceptionally clean this hotel is in a perfect location opposite the railway station we parked on the hotel car park and walked into town plus to the river. We liked the bar area and found staff extremely attentive I have booked to come back in November with friends Christmas shopping thank you to the Queens for a lovely stay. Donna

My friend and I tried to book in on Saturday for 1 night to celebrate my daughter’s 40th birthday! I had booked and paid for the room with Algotels which apparently i was told from the receptionist at the hotel is a scam site! Obviously I was upset and due to Chester being busy with Chester races it was difficult to get anywhere else! I was offered a room there for over £200 to which I had to refuse after having already paid!! This hotel treated us so badly!! We were just ignored- we not even offered any refreshment! We then had to try and find something cheaper and quickly as I was meeting my daughter for an event in the afternoon! Absolutely disgusted!!

The Queen at Chester offers an outstanding wedding venue characterised by the highest quality of service from beginning to end. The hotel itself is a fabulous place to stay, the service given by staff tremendous with the wedding support incredibly friendly and helpful from the outset. Guests at our wedding commented at just how great everything was. The food was of the highest quality and the chef came out with a platter especially for a child which helped make their and parents evening. All this quality came at an affordable, highly competitive, price that made all the difference for our wedding. We are left with very happy memories of our wonderful wedding thanks to the Queen at Chester Hotel.

Noise outside from rough sleepers at the train station. Hotel has had better days and tired in places. Reception staff not really bothered in my opinion.I normally like Best Western, but this was a negative experience for me.

The staff are lovely, hotel is quirky and could do with decluttering and refurb, cleaning is not up to standard.bathroom very poor and marks on duvet and towel. Had to pay for my pet but room was not cleaned to my satisfactory.

The hotel, room and staff were very good. The trip was only spoiled by the chef's inability to recognise a quality steak and cook it to the standard asked for. More gristle than steak and what should have been rare turned out like a well done flip flop.

Nice place. Has an antiquated feel in public areas but rooms are clean and modern with good internet. Easy walking distance into town and only 20metres from the rail station. Good breakfast but only starts at 7am weekdays and 8am Saturdays which isn't ideal. The only issue I had was with noise nuisance. Part of one of the previous railway sidings at the train station has been converted into a semi-open air music venue called The Carriage Shed. On Friday evening of my stay and all through Saturday afternoon til 2200hrs it was non-stop Ibiza beats type music played at high volume. You couldn't escape it even with the windows closed. It might not bother some people, but if it does then best to google check the venue for when it's having events as it will likely spoil your stay.

Afternoon tea here today was pretty disappointing. The sandwiches were piece of white French stick with toppings and the selection of cakes and scones were not freshly baked but more like defrosted or manufactured. The service and place were good so they let themselves down with the food unfortunately

We booked and overnight stay with breakfast and afternoon tea. The breakfast and afternoon tea was lovely. However I wouldn't call it luxury as claimed by the hotel. It was just enough to satisfy two people. The breakfast was superb, we both filled up and the quality was good! Moving onto the room, this is where we were majorly let down. We booked an executive double, however there was nothing executive about it, it was a massive room lacking any soul or character. The bathroom was showing its age the tiles on the floor were all broken and the shower tray was stained. We also found that the room had not been properly serviced there was NO toilet paper , and In the morning we quickly noticed we had no milk in the room. The room in my opinion was just not up to quality for a 4 star! The hotel its self is beautiful. Just to note the TV was not setup properly so we only had about 5 channels that worked. Checkout was busy so we were unable to feed back.
