I have stayed at this hotel before and was not overly impressed the first time, so when my friend booked it as a surprise, I was a little unsure. I needn’t have worried as our rooms were absolutely lovely. We stayed in the main hotel and I think that is what made a difference as last time we were in a building across the road. The Victorian decoration is really beautiful, we even enjoyed seeing Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, on the walls of the lift! The staff were very helpful...read full review
We stayed here for two nights to visit and explore Chester. Staff and amenities very good. Breakfast with one dinner and a bottle of wine. Large room and bathroom with both a bath and walk-in shower. Excellent value.

Just had a great mini-break here Staff are efficient and friendly ( special mention to Matthew in the dining room last night who was very patient and solicitous with my nut allergy) Rooms very comfortable, breakfast excellent and parking easy and nearby So nice to stay in such a Victorian Hotel with all the related paintings and sculpture Excellent value
