Worst idea ever M & S. Posh McDonald's springs to mind. Not user friendly and service very slow. Placed an order today for Easter chocolate cake only to be told 25 mins later that they haven't got any. Tables not cleared and messy tables and floors. Please bring back counter service. The experience is now like a fast food restaurant but very slow. Disappointed.

Just had to walk out again. What a Shambles to get a meal. Waiting was all of 20 mins standing. Tables not being clearedNo tables available if we had of waited. Must have been a number walking away.Dont knoww what Ms are thinking in this change of Cafes. Needs a wake up.

Terrible experience the ordering of food is easy enough on the screen but the toasted tea cakes we ordered were cold and under cooked and came 20 minutes before the coffees. Had to ask where the coffees were and when they arrived one was warm and the other cold. Won’t be using the cafe again.

Cafe looks fantastic. Coffee great. But I really don’t like the fact you can’t use cash. The waitress spilt coffee on my boot and table and just wiped the table with the serviette she had but didn’t come back with a cloth and spray clean the table.

Dreadful! We paid nearly £6 for a tea, which was supposed to be a pot and it arrived hot water and a paper cup and a horrible strong iced latte. It also took them 15 minutes to deliver, no sugar brought either. We complained about the tea and was told the dishwasher was broken. A lot of the tables were dirty. Won't go again!

M&S Handforth Dean. CheshireSadly, not a good lunch experience yesterday. Admittedly it was around 12.20 and busy as might be expected. We had to wait 5mins or so to use the new electronic order system, not because of a lack of machines but a shortage of tables.Our order for 2 x jacket potatoes took 40mins and was barely warm when it finally arrived. We asked a member of staff if the potatoes could be heated up and she took the plates away. Approximately 10 minutes later she returned and apologised for the inconvenience. Unfortunately, the food was as tepid as the previous ones. Neither of the potatoes were warm enough to melt either the cheese or butter toppings. We couldn’t face another lengthy wait, so ate what we could and left.A family of 3 seated close by actually had a worse experience. They waited in vain for an hour for their meals, which never actually arrived. They too gave up and went to request a refund. Isn’t it enough to accept that the meal portions have shrunk and the prices have increased without enduring such poor customer service?I don’t mind the technology changes but I question the design of the service model. Waiting-on staff seem to be constantly hurrying back and forth inefficiently. Not their fault, they have only the one tray. They deliver the meals but if seasonings or sauces are requested, they have to return to the kitchen and then back again to the customer. If hot drinks are ordered with your meal, these arrive separately via someone else. I felt really sorry for the waiting-on staff, who were extremely busy and working as fast as they could. Come on M&S, you can do better.

Not impressed, going down the route of not communicating with anyone, awful.Almost every table was dirty full of pots, coffee was barely warm. Definitely won’t use again.

Like MacDonalds , you order on a touch screen, pay and try to find a seat .Waited over 20 minutes for 3 drinks.Very poor. Will not be using this again.

Awful ! What a disappointment M &S. I wanted to choose my lunch by seeing the sandwiches and salads on offer. Not possible had to use a McDonald's style remote touch screen. The coffee was lukewarm at best by the time the waitress had found my table. Costa in Next from now on.
