Vist this place every month amazing food and atmosphere! Staff on 99.9% are amazing. However, the last visit was embarrassing, to say the least! Ref the bar tab! Having the bar tender shouting over the room that the tab is not settled! as we were leaving, my 79 year old mother had to go to the bar across several listening people to prove via showing the till receipt that she actually paid the bill! Then walking back passed everyone!...embarrassing to say the least!Won't put us off this place, but again, it's extremely embarrassing.

Fantastic food, ambience and amazing staff - This pub is a real gem in a lovely small village. A popular and honest Cheshire go to - real ales too.???

My favourite Cheshire pub. Similar to others in the owners stable of hostelries, he's found the right balance of authenticity and comfort here. Staff always friendly and helpful. Food is pub style but always a good standard.

Excellent pub with top quality home made food. We had the home made scotch egg and home made steak pie which we couldn't fault. Good quality home made pub food like this is hard to find these days. It has a decent selection of beers on tap too.

We used to have lunch in this pub quite a lot, but recently not so much as the place is always so busy that you can't get a table. We tried our luck today and were delighted to find a few tables available... Unfortunately that's where our happiness ended. The food was so bang average. My wife's sausages were really dry and far too hot (she thought that they had been made yesterday and then microwaved) and my sandwich was nowhere near the standard of our last visit, which was fantastic. Such a shame. Will definitely think twice before visiting again.
