Beautiful country hotel with period style accommodation and friendly excellent service.I booked through an app and turned up at the last minute, but was received a friendly welcome, and was provided with an excellent supper in-spite of missing the set meal hours. The room was spacious with a very comfortable four poster in the period style with a pleasing selection of hot drinks provided.After a good sleep, an excellent breakfast was offered. Altogether a very enjoyable experience.

Had a dripping pipe under a floorboard keep me awake most of the night, free wifi is so bad I was lucky if it just connected, floors in the room creaking like crazy everywhere you walk and a neighbour who had his cell phone alarm going off for more than an hour. Overall the venue is not bad but the niggles made it a bad experience.

Great place to stay for a stopover, welcoming and efficient staff. Delicious food and drinks. Comfortable, quiet rooms. Lovely breakfast and general atmosphere. Brilliant parking.

Noteworthy details: Paper thin walls, woken up at 2am by the people in the room next door who had obviously been out and decided it was ok to talk loudly and make so much noise for the next hour. Definitely would not stay there again.

Would normally give 5 but menu had fillet steak but on ordering was told it wasn't available. Should have been told when given menu. Also wrong drink was served. Birthday treat so a bit disappointing.

We stayed overnight, received a very warm and friendly welcome, great service at the bar, the food was excellent and the breakfast equally as good.Food & drinks: Very good quality food, the Devonshire crab fish cake is not to be missed.

Lovely pub. Very cozy. Had a Sunday lunch which was massive but very tasty. The beef was melt in the mouth. Service was great.

Used to LOVE coming here as a kid and enjoyed the playground/bowling green area - it’s been beautifully updated and we can’t wait to enjoy it in the summer! The inside is so lovely and cosy, flowing to a beautiful open area with large windows that leads outside.I can’t recommend this place enough, it’s the perfect combination of coziness in the countryside, with smiley, friendly staff!

Just popped into this beautiful pub by chance, unfortunately they weren’t able to find us a table..it was Sunday lunch time after all..but we were able to have some lovely nibbles by an open fire..The guy on reception was so welcoming too. Will book ahead next time.
