Recently done up. Very nice new design feels much more up to date and the change of the position of the bar makes it feel much more open. Staff pleasant and friendly. Good selection of beers.Food on the other hand was pretty pants. Kids pizza appears to be microwaved Chicago town or something cheaper with a few greasy chips. Burger wasn't as bad, definitely not made on site, decent prepackaged burger...Seems odd that the food is so good at the spread eagle and so bad here. Will be going back again, but only for drinksUpdate:Have been back quite a few times since previous review. The food is definitely better now, the staff and everything else still decent.Started live music on Fridays so can be a bit busier / noisier than usual. In response to owner reply:The original review at the top was from some time ago. Perhaps it wasn't clear that I had updated the review (to be more positive) and increased star rating.

Never Again! After a very tough month we decided to take our family to my daughters favourite pub for tea.Sadly, the burgers were overcooked on the outside. Inside, they were nice. The curry boat could be tipped upside down and shook without any part of the stodgy curry moving. My wife's chicken was just awful. Burnt and dry.The young man serving was very polite and apologised a few times. However, he said, at the till, that unfortunately, there was nothing that he could do about the price, hence the loss of 1 star for not thinking of the big picture. Which is every one of our friends or family that we recommend the pub too will be updated. And if anyone asks us to recommend somewhere nice in our village, it will never be The Crown, unfortunately. At least the dog got anything worth saving.Normally the food is good and the service is always very good. But never again! My wife even asked if it was a new chef, apparently not. It's such a shame.

Plenty of parking, staff was great, the food was very good especially for the price and kids meals were £1.

Not been here for a long time but used to get lovely meals. Unfortunately was very disappointed today. Myself and daughter had a very mediocre Sunday roast and my grandson had sausage mash. His was such a small portion and no veggies offered on the children's menu!. Had to go to the bar to order a dessert as we felt pretty invisible to the staff. Three of them stood there chatting and not looking at what the customers want. Had to go and ask to pay the bill too. We won't be returning!

We had a lovely lunch reminiscing with my wife on her memories of going to The Crown with her grandpa and the speciality of scampi and chips that he always ordered

What has happened ?? the food used to be great but the last few times we have been it has not been good. We had Sunday lunch which was not good at all!!! The meat was chewy, and the rest was ruined by the gravy. It was dishwater with added herbs and garlic it was terrible. Shame as we used to visit there a lot but not after the worst Sunday roast we have ever had.

Food was very average overpriced and warm not hot . Meat was tough cutlery not adequate to cut . Staff inexperienced sat chatting like teenages about their love life’s not what you want to hear on a quiet Sunday lunch . Will not be going again

Excellent pub with good menu and range of drinksQuiznight on Thursdays.Nice to see dogs are not only welcomed but they are provided with free biscuits and water at their own Dog Bar.Space for motorhomes to overnight in the carpark, although best to phone first to be sure of space.Landlord and staff are extremely welcoming ,yet provide a good professional service.
