I’ve been here a few times, including for my birthday meal, and keep going back because it’s a cosy, friendly and unpretentious pub with an extremely well kept and decent pint. Seen some of the reviews on here and yes, on one occasion they clearly had a staff shortage but they worked hard to keep up. I always find the staff very pleasant and welcoming. The cheese and onion pie is the best thing in my opinion. A very good, solid, generous slice of cheesy decadence. My family members speak very well of the classic roast including one discerning Uncle who can’t abide tough meat. The fact that he gave it the thumbs up speaks volumes. The Halloween and Christmas decorations were brilliant, remarkable! When we go to Lymm we regularly think we’ll try somewhere else for a change but I gravitate back to this pub, it has a certain charming quality.

Lovely Sunday lunch. Pleasant and attentive staff. Live music on when we were there around 12.30. We found a table in the corner so it was pleasant but had we been any closer, it would have been a bit too loud for us.

Booked for Christmas Eve meal in advance (2 months) arrived and no record, was placed in a general drinking area adjacent vaping young people, meal delayed by an hour due to venue upstairs, when it finally arrived it was poor quality with burnt and overdone onion rings, admittedly it was extremely busy but why pre-book to be let down? Shan’t be doing that again ?

We found this cosy little pub on a walk through Lymm whilst visiting family and my oh my, are we glad we did! It’s a hidden Cheshire jewel. Food, staff, drinks, decoration - everything was fantastic. Highly recommend the sea bass ?

Cold food. The young lad who served us was rushed off his feet and did the best he could so didn’t complain at the time. Chicken burger had no mayo, no salsa and no dill pickle, basically a chicken fillet on a dry bun with a slice of tomato and a piece of lettuce. Won’t be back.

My family and I experienced an absolutely delightful roast dinner at The Spread Eagle. The pub exuded a lively atmosphere with its bustling crowd, creating a festive and cheerful ambiance. The staff went above and beyond to make our visit memorable, showcasing their helpful, friendly, and welcoming nature. The diverse menu catered to every taste, and the drinks flowed seamlessly. I wholeheartedly endorse The Spread Eagle as a cosy and family-friendly pub, especially after a leisurely stroll around Lymm village. The roast dinners are a definite highlight and make the overall experience truly exceptional.

Myself & my family moved to Lymm earlier this year and decided to book for Christmas day out for the first time. We rang up to enquire in July & it was already nearly fully booked so we waited on the list and wow we know why! The staff were working so hard but from the second we arrived we were greeted so warmly The food was delicious, hot tasty and we didn't feel rushed at any point. We had visited the pub a couple of times and each time the decoration it seems is changed seasonally ?? and changes often and the festive decorations certainly didn't disappoint. I would definitely recommend giving this little gem a visit at some point if your ever in Lymm. Can't wait to visit again and have already got our names down for next Christmas

The pub is beautiful but the service is absolutely terrible... three dishes of the menu they didnt have, they gave is all scratch (with pen) menus... and the dishes two ask from that menu.... they didn't have. The food took around 40 minutes to come out...only starters... the drink, as well i had to change the drinks as well....

You might not realise it from the outside, but inside, a real snug, and a beer garden and a well laid out pub with food dining area, and an upstairs function room.We visited twice in one week for a Christmas party upstairs and a smaller Christmas celebration downstairs. The Christmas menu was varied, and the food was good hearty pub food. Even at the busy times we visited, the staff were all friendly and helpful, with particular "Thanks" to Claire who looked after us and made us very comfortable. We're already booked in for next Christmas, get the Plum Christmas beer ready. ?Parking: Lots of parking just round the corner at Davis Way car park or in the village centre. Beware the after 6:00pm parking fee...

Moved to Lymm in March this year and have used this pub on several occasions since then so much so in September booked a table for xmas eve as we knew it would be busy , on the day phoned to confirm booking no problem, however when we arrived it's a very busy evening I accept but they were grossly under staffed the table was filthy they had no chilled wine and no ice the beer at the table was served in a plastic glass although our 2 soft drinks were in glass pint pots booked for 7pm and was told food be at least an hour so didn't bother waiting, so soon learned this isn't the place for Christmas eve but the good thing about living in Lymm there is plenty of pubs so I doubt we will visit this establishment again any time of the year, I also made them aware of our dissatisfaction but they were not too concerned.

We had booked for a family meal many weeks ago. Unfortunately there seemed to be huge issues this weekend meaning that tables weren't ready, ordering was slow and the food took forever and came out in dribs and drabs and wasn't very good. We were told that there were major staffing issues causing problems and they were good enough to knock the price of the food off the bill that was sent back (inedible) or we didn't even receive. To their credit, they apologised and even knocked the drinks off the bill as a gesture of goodwill. Felt sorry for the staff who were trying their best in the midst of all this and complaints from other tables, but it would have been better to mention issues at the outset, as we would have just gone elsewhere. I would have given it 1 star if it wasn't for staff trying so hard.

Just been in for a quick lunch out walking the dog. The hostess was rude and the carpet and seating had holes, the cutlery also could have done with a good clean. Ingredients were low quality and my daughter's chicken was cold. When we paid the hostess made a remark about us not having to wash the pots I earn more than a hostess but managed not to lower myself to her level

We recently hired the function room upstairs for a baby shower and had the BEST time. From initial enquiry right through to the day itself, every single team member I spoke with was super friendly, helpful and honestly couldn't do enough for us. The space is fantastic and at such a brilliant price - we had the room all day and were allowed to arrive at 10am to set up, and we didn't leave until gone 5pm. I enquired with so many venues as part of my search and NONE of them compared to this in terms of location, price, space and hire times. We also added on afternoon tea which was absolutely delicious! At £13.99pp we were expecting something more basic which suited us fine, but wow, everything was so fresh and there was so much food every guest was able to take a doggy bag home with them! We all had the best day and I cannot thank the team enough for all their help. You're a brilliant bunch! I'll be recommending the pub (which serves equally as tasty food having eaten there a few months back when we came to view the function space) and venue to everyone and we will definitely be back! Thank you!

Lovely little find. Went out for the day for a random day date. Lovely food and so cosy.
