Great little old style pub, with lounge and vault. Just like they used to be, with Boddies bitter.???

Called in for a few drinks with the dogs. A nice well run pub with a well kept outdoor seating area and garden. Reasonable prices and good atmosphere.

Called in for a pint on a Saturday night. About four people in the place and a young lad stood behind the bar who had more interest in his phone. It's a funny thing, hospitality;- if you put nothing in, you get nothing out. The Star used to be a good laugh many years ago. It's utterly depressing these days. Something needs to change soon before it disappears like so many other pubs in Lymm.

I stopped off with family yesterday afternoon after a long bike ride. A pint of ale was very well earned! We decided to get food whilst there, heating that they’d started serving food over the weekend. Between my family and I we had the soft shell tacos, nachos, fish cakes, veggie spring rolls, loaded fries, halloumi fries (absolutely the best I’ve ever had anywhere!). Super impressed with the food, service and staff. Great pub, and if you’re on the Trans-pennine pass round Lymm, definitely stop by!

Four of us stopped off here whilst cycling on the Trans Pennine Trail. The owners took over 3 weeks ago, and only started serving food the day before we arrived. We had a very warm welcome and decided to order some lunch, in the beer garden, it is tapas style dishes and we ordered a total of 10 dishes, good sized portions and there was plenty of food to satisfy the 4 of us, and it was all well cooked and delicious. At the moment there is only one keg ale available, but 3 hand pumps in total, so not sure if they will be ordering more in, but plenty of larger and pressure pumps. There was a slight problem with the till charging different amounts than those printed on the menu , but as soon as we pointed it out they fixed it and apologised. It was a good positive response. We will definitely make this a regular stop when we cycle the trail again.

Went in for a quick one. Not changed much which is a good thing. You don't see many pubs anymore. I went in the early afternoon, it was quite with a few customers. Great atmosphere and very relaxing.
