I stopped off with family yesterday afternoon after a long bike ride. A pint of ale was very well earned! We decided to get food whilst there, heating that they’d started serving food over the weekend. Between my family and I we had the soft shell tacos, nachos, fish cakes, veggie spring rolls, loaded fries, halloumi fries (absolutely the best I’ve ever had anywhere!). Four of us stopped off here whilst cycling on the Trans Pennine Trail. The owners took over 3 weeks ago, and only started serving food the day before we arrived. We had a very warm welcome and decided to order some lunch, in the beer garden, it is tapas style dishes and we ordered a total of 10 dishes, good sized portions and there was plenty of food to satisfy the 4 of us, and it was all well cooked and delicious. Went in for a quick one. Not changed much which is a good thing. You don't see many pubs anymore. I went in the early afternoon, it was quite with a few customers. Great atmosphere and very relaxing.
