Ginger and Pickles is our favourite place to eat in Nantwich. We make a 50 mile round trip to visit Nantwich regularly. We always tell our friends to go to Ginger and Pickles. We are visiting Nantwich this Saturday with 4 friends. I rang to book a table, as it is popular and busy and knew we would struggle to get a table for 6. However I was extremely disappointed to be told they don't take bookings at weekends unless it's afternoon tea, saying they prioritise these. I am struggling to understand how a table for 6 for lunch would be less profitable than a table for afternoon tea.Feeling very disappointed

Popped in for a freshly-baked sourdough and coffee. Can confirm the bread is 10/10 and so was my latte. Lovely server and generally a really nice atmosphere.

First visit and won't be the last. Welcomed and seated upon arrival, menus straight to table. Very busy but not to long of a wait to be served. Staff were great, friendly and helpful. Real butter on the doorstep toast delicious with jam and a coffee, plenty of bacon and sausage on sandwich.Highly recommend a visit......

I recently booked the private room in the cafe for a small function. It was booked well in advance and paid for in full. One week before the event, I got a phone call from a member of staff telling me they had decided to renovate the cafe. It would open on the day of my booking but the private space was no longer available. I had bought room decorations and banners which I would no longer be able to use as we would be placed in the main cafe. We would not have the privacy we had booked and the event just would not be the same. I have spent the last 2 days frantically trying to find another suitable venue at the last minute which by some miracle, I have managed to do. Then, when I contacted the G&P team to cancel, I was told that I had been given incorrect information and there would be an alternative private space available. I am really disappointed with the service I recieved. I understand mistakes can be made but this is really unacceptable. I would not recommend booking for an important event as they are clearly unreliable. On a positive note, a full refund was provided quickly when I requested it.

Great fresh baked bread ? every day and sausage rolls lovely cakes ? to take home definitely recommend the coffee and walnut cake. I had a bacon ? and sausage sandwich ? on there baked bread ? and English Breakfast leaf ? tea ? you can see why it gets busy in there I would recommend a Breakfast sandwich ? so filling with a great pot of tea ? ?

Tea and coffee was good We had a cooked breakfast that was really tasty but the place was so dirty , filthy floor , dirty where the cakes are kept , very gruby walls needs a full revamp. Thought it was also quite overpriced. Not a good layout nor a good view of everyone chatting near the open kitchen , wouldn't go back again.

Really dissapointing/foods gone downhill. Visited 30/12/23 for breakast with my partner travelling to here from Crewe to get the nice breakfast you used to here. Melt (toastie) I had was soggy undercooked one side & my partners breakfast was all burnt, eggs were so burnt Im surprised they even dared to put them on the plate - def not the high standards weve been previously used to here. Wont return.

We visit Nantwich every couple of months and discovered Ginger and Pickles last year. I felt I had to write a review after our visit yesterday. It was a freezing cold day and we walked in to warmth- I sat by the radiator which was bliss! Although the cafe was busy, we didn’t have to wait too long for our order to arrive. I had the homemade tomato soup, which was the nicest I have ever tasted. My husband chose the club sandwich, which he always does, and enjoyed it very much. Would not hesitate to recommend this place. Only downside is that it is unsuitable for the less mobile, being situated at the top of a steep staircase and the loo might be difficult to negotiate!

They didn’t listen to Dietary needs. I’m sensitive to cheese, it makes sick. Plus I don’t like butter or any spreads on my sandwich’s. They were told this. £22.00 is rather a lot of money. When I could not eat any of the sandwiches. I only had two scones and one slice of cake. If you are in a group, and can’t make it. Ie poorly you still have too pay for it! Which I feel is not customer friendly. They could have refunded the £22.00 pounds. Because everyone else’s was there. It difficult I know, but for one out of the group who couldn’t make, because of illness. I feel it not fair! You wouldn’t pay if you were poorly, and couldn’t get your hair done at a salon! Also the stairs are very steep and unsafe, plus I couldn’t use the toilet, it not disabled friendly!
