My recent visit to BEAR was full of disappointment and has left me compelled to share my experience. Ever dreamed of paying a small fortune for a meal that could fit in a teacup? Well, BEAR can make your dreams come true! The biggest disappointment was a blatant case of overcharging for poor quality and quantity of food. The quantity was so minuscule; and to add insult to injury, the taste was nothing to write home about, dry and overcooked. If I wanted disappointment on a plate, I could have saved myself a trip. The customer service was nothing short of a letdown. When I requested an additional side of chicken for my dish, I was informed that it would come at an extra charge?! This lack of flexibility, especially considering the already high prices, left a bitter taste in my mouth. The staff exhibited a clear disregard for customer satisfaction. If you're into daylight robbery with a side of disappointment, this is the place for you.

I usually find the service in Bear friendly and the food outstanding, but not during my recent visit. My pancakes were dry and not very warm. Cappuccino was Luke warm. The food is quite pricey, which I don’t mind paying if the food tastes good. However the bad attitude of the tall waitress serving us added to the bad experience. Maybe she was having a bad day or couldn’t cope with how busy it was. We didn’t complain but we left feeling disappointed.

Booked a table for this evening at 5.30 for my 15 year olds birthday only to be told that there was no booking. I won't be returning to bear in the future. There was no real apology either. Luckily we found somewhere else at short notice.

Our first time in Bear and we were pleasantly surprised. Delicious, well prepared dishes. Obviously made either great care. The food was served beautifully and the portion sizes are generous

We visited BEAR for a quick coffee stop, as we wanted to try somewhere different to the usual chain coffee shops we visit. The menu for drinks looked great and there was a wide range of artisan coffees displayed. Got seated and handed menus however 10 minutes passed and nobody came to take our order. We then went to the tills to place our order, and asked for 1 iced latte and one hot latte. We did ask for large and was never told that there was only one standard size. When the drinks came, they were so small, especially the hot latte which looked more like the size of a flat white to me. The menu prices would be fair, if you were receiving a decent size drink. However, it took us no more than a couple of minutes to finish said drinks, and we left feeling disappointed for what we paid. The coffee itself is actually really nice and good quality , so it is a shame about the quantity that you receive. Another thing was the slow service: after placing our order at the counter, we sat down and waited around 25 minutes just for two coffees which was far too long. Really wanted this to be a good experience, however our visit did not meet expectations.

My family and I love to come here for a coffee and cake, sometimes lunch. The lattes are made very well and would highly recommend the billionaires shortbread. On the food menu, the tater tots are delicious and very generous portions, whilst the menu choice is wide-ranging.The Scandinavian decor of the cafe is really pleasing to the eye and the staff are attentive. I also like that you can fill up on tap water yourself using the tap instead of having to ask someone. If you are going as a bigger group, make sure you book to ensure you get a table.Would really recommend BEAR :)

The staff and atmosphere were great, unfortunately it was very over priced and not worth it. Paid £3.70 for a chai latte which wasn't much bigger than a double espresso and it didn't taste all too great either. My partner had a mocha which was nicer but overall I don't think it was worth the price. We didn't have any food but from what I could see whilst we waited for our drinks it looked pretty tasty.

Bear is my go-to place for really good coffee in Northwich. The staff are always super nice. The coffee is always spot on. One of the guys made my daughter a hot chocolate with a butterfly picture in the milk last time we went in. The food is good, and I really like the vibe of the place. It's like being sat in your living room.

Amazing place for great breakfast and brunch offerings. Great loyalty card scheme and lovely atmosphere. Location is great and the staff are all really friendly and accommodating. Would recommend fully to anybody. Haven't tried the late-night offerings yet but keen to give them a try one day also!

We always love coming to Bear for brunch, but have come for the second time on a Saturday night and the food and cocktails are fantastic! Honestly, the food could not be better and the atmosphere and service is brilliant. Would highly recommend!

Second time we’ve been to the Friday / Saturday evening food session, can’t recommend enough! Food is incredible, smash patty burgers are delicious and the 2for1 cocktails are artisan and so beautifully crafted! 5*

Excellent breakfast menu. Granola and egg Benedict just right. And the decaffeinated coffee was delicious. Pleasant service. Modern cafe in an attractive position

Went to BEAR ? as I was moored right next to it, plus it looked kind of nice from the outside.I ordered the full breakfast & my partner had the vegetarian breakfast. The man whom served us (he had a beard) couldn't do enough to help, even bringing a bowl of fresh water to out table outside for our dog. He was polite & helpful even though it was a roasting hot day & you could see he was feeling every second of the heat, poor chap ?...Our food looked absolutely divine ? & tasted excellent, all quality ingredients & no cheap & cheerful elements at all.We decided on the spot that we would so definitely be revisiting this establishment the following week when we are next in the area.Well done all & keep it up, places to eat like yours are very rare indeed...Vegetarian options: Vegetarian breakfast was amazingly ? constructed, excellent!!!
