On Saturday the 16th of September we called in to have a look round and the changes that the new owners of the park have done is very good.We use to come to hengar manor every year for 2 weeks in September but noticed that it was going down hill. The last time we stayed was 2015. The place was looking shabby and seemed as it was not loved anymore.Well what we saw on Saturday we liked it that much we booked to go back again next year in September for 2 weeks and me and my partner can't wait

Great park in a lovely location. Friendly and helpful staff. We very much enjoyed our stay here. We didn't use the facilities very much so we can't comment on them - we explored the area most days. Well-stocked shop on site with groceries and supplies.

Stayed at Hengar Manor from Mon - Fri for a 4 day break! Caravan was very good and very clean compared to sone we have stay in although mattresses not brilliant as sheets would not stay on beds due to a plastic shiny surface! Went out quite a bit but did use the bar area for a drink a couple of times! Friendly staff easy check in and got served at the bar pretty quickly too! Our only problem in the bar an each occasion we went for a drink we had dirty glasses and black bits inside the glasses having drinks changed or managing-to fish them out if near the top ! Think the glass washer needs looking at or cleaning! Overall this did not spoil our stay and is in a very nice setting! Plenty of lakes for fishing if into that although the Manor House seemed a bit run down - would have been nice if they used this for accommodation/ restaurant/ bar other than an Escape Room- plus use the area and gardens around it! Seemed a waste! Overall would recommend but definitely needs better signage!

We've just come back from the most incredible stay at Hengar Manor, we've been visiting for over 6 years as a family now and it never fails to deliver a great family holiday with lots of memories always made. We stayed in the Gold plus caravan and it was a lovely comfortable stay with everything you could possibly need, nice and clean, spacious and great views of the excellent fishing lake! A huge Thank You to Angie Herbert who went above and beyond to make sure our stay was as perfect as could be! Really lovely looked after park with attentive and friendly staff, honestly couldn't ask for more, will definitely be back again!

This was the second time I stayed at he had manor. The surrounding grounds are kept excellently maintained. It’s lovely seeing the wildlife. When we arrived and went to book in we were greeted by really helpful friendly staff. The club house has been refurbished and looks amazing. The food was really good. I didn’t go in the pool myself but it is large, the biggest pool I’ve seen on a holiday park. Our chalet was just the right size for us and cleaned to a very high standard. The beds were lovely and comfortable to sleep in. The ladies in the office were happy to guide us to local amenities outside the camp and were very knowledgeable about the area. To be fair any questions we had all staff were very approachable. I like this park because it’s quiet and relaxing. I can’t wait to return for my spring holiday!!!!

We stayed in a gold villa, 4 adults and two children. The actual villa itself was fine, three bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, kitchenette area. However the cleanliness was not up to scratch at all. Was in desperate need of a good scrub. The whole villa just felt grubby. The park itself was ok. Lovely grounds. The shop was very small and limited but the lady working there was lovely. The reception staff were also very friendly. The pool was lovely, clean and fresh with a good changing area and felt warm. The jacuzzi area a bonus. The restaurant area itself was ok. Drinks fine. On the first night we decided to eat there as had had a long journey. When ordering at the bar we were told some of the kitchen staff had "gone missing" and that they were now only able to do burgers and pizzas. So we revised our order. It took an age with 2 grumpy children to get our food. The pizzas were fine but burgers inedible! We were gutted. I understand not the staffs fault but there should be some kind of back up plan. The play area was awful. Two swings and some monkey bars. The kids were disappointed. Good location. Easy to get to many attractions.

Stayed in a lodge at hengar manor for the 4th time and unfortunately the last. The accommodation was aging and needs updating the decor generally tired and most doors unable to shut. The lodge was not cleaned properly with stuff over the floor and thick dust under and around beds not to mention cobwebs in almost every corner. Cleaners were sent out after we reported it but this should have been done properly before we arrived. The entertainment overall was poor and the club house was understaffed(at times only one member of staff behind the bar serving the club house, the bar and taking food orders)so service was slow although we could not fault the staff who worked extremely hard. But the final straw was 5 out of 7 nights being stuck by lodges with large groups of people partying with extremely loud music into the early hours, having to try and sleep during warm nights with all the windows closed although the noise was still to loud and being told that the problem had been dealt with for it to happen again and again. To finish it off we have contacted park holidays but they pushed us off to hengar manor who have pretty much no interest so I don't see anything improving.

Well, we have been home for a week and I am already thinking of booking again for the near future. We stayed in the maids apartment in the main Manor House, we had a few issues but these were sorted promptly by staff. And as with any old house, these things will happen occasionally and did not dampen our holiday. The ground are truly beautiful, and the part of Cornwall there are so many close places to visit that one don’t cost a fortune for a family of 6 and 2 cater to our whole party. It was probably our favourite holiday for a long time. We used the venue for swimming, for entertainment and to eat. I will say I think I stayed the same week as the people below who complained and we didn’t notice any favouritism or staff using the bar for their pleasure. We enjoyed the entertainment and bingo very much. The shop has everything you may need, and local shops are not too far away. Thank you for our wonderful relaxing stay. We will definitely return

Our fourth visit having stayed here with our children in 1997/98/99. Re-visited with our Grandchildren and the site has grown! Accomodation probably not been updated since then and needed a refurb. As mentioned in a previous review, we also were bothered by workmans vans and cars. They appeared to be railway workman who used the site as a base and came back any time between 1.00am and 4.00am. Definately not working on the site! They also sat outside drinking etc until around 5.00am. The tennis court was unplayable - covered in leaves etc with no painted lines, the swimming pool fine, but very busy. There are some lovely new lodges for sale down by the lake, but I would be very disappointed by the facilities if I owned one! Never ate in the restaurant due to the other reviews and the bakery items never in stock. Ones experience of Hengar really depends on which accommodation you chose. The mobile homes and wooden lodges still looked lovely and the grounds were well kept, but the site is too big and the older lodges look very tired.

Amazing. Went there on a newspaper holiday and the accommodation was the butlers apartment. Loved it very clean. My only gripe would be the shop says fresh bakery with a large selection of fresh produce and only twice out of 5 days was there 2 items on offer.

Background - 5 adults and 2 under 18's (2yr old and 14yr old). The good: Upon entering the park, we were all surprised by how beautiful the grounds were. The groundskeepers are extremely talented and well placed. We were greeted by some lovely reception staff who were very friendly and extremely helpful. Throughout the stay, we used the swimming pool a few times and all I can say is that it is wonderfully clean and perfectly sized for the size of the park. The accommodation was great, apart from some points I will highlight later on. The room sizes are perfect, the kitchen is basic but that is all you need and the living room/dining room was nicely sized. The size of the park is perfect, compared to some other big names, it being a smaller park makes it feel like a more personal experience to be there. I have some gripes with the shop, but the selection offered in terms of basic essentials and some little treats and extras was perfect for what we needed. The slightly meh: The restaurant food was really a mix of emotions. The first night we came, we had food in the restaurant. It was shocking. It was just about warm, and the quality was really just lacking. It seems like there was very little care or pride taken in the prep. Later on in the week, we ate there again(purely because our plans had changed last minute) and the food was lovely. It was like a totally different place. So the issue I find is that, it doesn't seem to be very consistent at all. The bar and wait staff, although helpful seemed to be lacking in something. I'm not sure if that is the workplace causing issues, or if they are even just a little under trained. The ugly: The cleanliness of the accommodation was really lacking in various areas. The cobweb situation was a bit crazy but they were quickly sorted with us having a quick breeze round with a brush. Underneath the sofas we're disgusting so we ended up just leaving that, out of sight out of mind right? The downstairs shower was fairly dirty, covered in water marks and what seems to have been an actual spider kingdom. The onsite shop staff were really something. There was a man and a woman during our stay. Neither of which were friendly or welcoming at all. I must say the woman was a damn sight nicer than the man though. She almost seemed as though she was tired and had had enough of working for the season. Almost as though having to deal with customers (a big part of the job by the way!) was too much for her. Him, now he was frustrating. First of all, appearance. We walked into the shop and he was hunched over, scrolling on his phone in the corner. His fingernails were honestly disgusting, the filth underneath them really made me question actually eating any of the bakery items prepared by him. Although there weren't any mind! Myself and my partner turned up just around lunchtime and wanted one of their toasties. We were met with "No more food today, the oven is off" and that's it. He barely even looked up from his mobile. I could seriously go on but this is too long a review already. The children's entertainment in the evening was okay while it lasted but it doesn't last long. Once it's had its time slot, it's straight to bingo (every night). The kids who are still in the club with parents enjoying the evening are then met with prison like strict rules about not making even a single noise. Its very difficult when you have excited children because they are obviously on holiday. Children play facilities are seriously lacking. There is a set of swings, a load of balance beams and a set of monkey bars which are way too high for any normal kid to use. Even I as an adult struggled. The park is labely as "family friendly" but I really don't think that's correct. I'm genuinely unhappy with my stay and I'd really struggle to stay again which is a shame as the park has massive potential.

Beautiful surroundings and wonderful staff. Frances and Angie are amazing hosts. They go way above and beyond. The personal connection and attention to detail simply made our stay a special and very memorable one.

The main draw for me to come back to any one place is the staff. And the reception staff at Hengar Manor are second to none. Angie and Frances went out of their way to make sure our stay was the best possible. Our caravan itself was spacious, spotless, and bright with a lovely view of the small lake. But it's the staff especially that has brought our family back here again and again.

We have stayed here several times before, and this was our first experience with a caravan...Overall: we were very impressed! * Our caravan was a 12ft, situated in the secluded caravan side of the park that had picnic tables, large joint grassy areas great for kids, views of the little fishing lake and plenty of lovely trees. The caravan itself was sparkling clean, a pleasing contemporary style, and our favourite layout yet. Our large family found it to be a great fit, and a delightful little place to come back to after outings. * The staff are amazing, we are always greeted warmly by Angie, Frances, and the whole friendly reception team, who also go above and beyond with helping us make our stay the best it can be, and sorting out any thing we needed help with. 10/10! * We loved the bright and large pool, with its ample changing rooms, children's shallow section and mini spa pool. The lifeguards were all very friendly and capable, wether we were the only ones in the pool, or on a more crowded summer afternoon. * The grounds at Hengar Manor are a personal favourite: lots of preserved grass and picnic areas, mature trees, wildlife, and you never feel stuck for somewhere beautiful to go. There is also a children's play area complete with a swing and monkey bars--we all loved going there! A huge thank you to all the team (I wish I knew more names to give shoutouts!) for going the extra mile!
