Lovely little find late in the day on a cold wintery day. The staff were really welcoming despite it being 35 mins until close. Had the cream teas, lovely warm scones and generous with the clotted cream. Lovely setting, great service and a warm and friendly welcome. Our two dogs also loved it (and dog treats available). The coffee was also really really good. Would highly recommend.

Over the past 3 years we have been searching for the UK's best hot chocolate. Today we found it! An amazing place, so refreshing to find somewhere actually open and with great prices. Thankyou. We shall be back

An awesome quick stop for Tea Coffee and cake - it seems to have changed hands from last time I was there but loved the service and food again - still worth the stop and now it has more outside seating as it remains popular

Came to The Barge for lunch with my partner for a quick lunch. Really enjoyed being on the canal and having a lovely view of the beach. Location is ideal for anyone planning a beach day out, or visiting the canal area of the town. The food was really good and I enjoyed the fry up I had.

We came across this lovely place while on a walk down the canal in Bude and we are so glad we did. Good choice of food, very generous portions, friendly staff.. all in a unique setting on a barge. Would recommend to anyone visiting Bude.

Called in and had a lovely cup of coffee. Beautifully warm and cosy barge on a cold day. Spotlessly clean and lovely, friendly staff. We decided to go back for lunch and we weren’t disappointed. Good plateful of well cooked, tasty food. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and we will be back.

What an amazing idea. Lunch on a barge. It's like a Tardis inside. Plenty of room, friendly staff, very clean, excellent fish and chips (xl piece of fish). Well priced. And you can park almost next to it.There is also a takeaway window.Well done to all that created and work here. 10/10

We stopped off for a drink and fell in love with The Barge, so back we went for lunch. Scampi was the best I've ever had, I usually leave some but not today. It's just a beautiful setting. Good choice of snacks & meals, with friendly service. We will definitely return on our next visit to Bude and would recommend highly

Popped in to escape the rain and had a really tasty scone and hot chocolate. It's a small place so you do find yourself sitting very close to, or looking directly at, other people which is a little too close for me. But it's on a boat so its expected. The food was very well presented and the luxury hot chocolates were delicious. We had the biscoff hot chocolate. It's definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

I am a regular visitor to the Barge, which is delightfully situated on the canal which is popular with visitors, walkers and many locals. The fish and chip lunch is superb, fresh line caught fish from Bude bay by a local fisherman, when available, cooked on board and eaten fresh. Beautiful light batter and served with perfect chips that are crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The flavourful coffee is roasted and sourced locally. Staff are friendly and helpful and know their menus very well. Come the colder days and the log burner in the corner sends out warmth and the wonderful smell of burning logs. It is dog friendly for well behaved pets and owners. Clean, quaint, friendly and welcoming. A wonderful place for lunch after a brisk walk along the canal to the lock gates and back.

Waited almost an hour for a breakfast which instead of being veg arrived classic and the coffee was served to me after 30 minutes. the service is questionable and the waiting time even more so. When my breakfast arrived its look was miserable and because of the rush of recooking it, the tomatoes were not cooked at all. nice and characteristic location but for the less than mediocre food that they offer it's not really worth going.Vegetarian options: Terrible
