Great food aways in for a bite to

You kinda know what you are letting yourself in for... Decent food, decent prices. Friendly and helpful staff. Great range of beer. Quality location and lovely interior. Not a gastro pub but it doesn't pretend to be.Kid-friendliness: One of our kids ordered a burger. One tantrum later I changed the order to a cheeseburger. They were totally sympathetic. Sorted it out, no problem.

A great place, wheelchair accessible through the hotel entrance at the side. The food was good, which is pretty standard across Witherspoon's. Staff were friendly and helpful.

A very large Wethersoons pub. Plenty of seating. You can order your drinks/food via the app if preferred and everything is brought to your table. Food is of decent quality and prices are nice and low. As to be expected, can get a little noisy Saturday afternoon/evening.

This is one of the nicest Wetherspoons in Cornwall in my experience. It's also a hotel. It was recently refurbished extensively. Early 2023 I think.Inside there are two largish areas of tablesIt has a good sized flowered yard out back with several large tables. As with any Wetherspoons, food and drink can be ordered either at the bar, or through the Wetherspoons App.Kid-friendliness: Like many Wetherspoons, this one is very popular with families.Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessibility - there are two or three steps at the front. It may be possible to access through the back beer yard, but I've not checked this out.

Called in for breakfast. Good choice of food. Very reasonable prices and the free refills on drinks was great. The app was really fiddly so went to rhe bar to order. Staff friendly.

Due to the rain and the fact we were camping d we decided to give ourselves a room for the night to dry off. We weren’t sure what to expect due to the very reasonable price and the fact it was a Wetherspoons hotel but we thought it worth the risk for a night in the dry and comfort! We were eye more than satisfied with our experience. We were met by very helpful staff both in the bar and the hotel reception who directed us to a large, clean, comfortable and spacious room. - Absolute bargain for the price! We ate dinner and breakfast and found the service to be excellent - Friendly and helpful staff and very well priced, good quality food and drink. Overall much better than expected and we definitely would return. Thank you!

We were impressed with the hotel, cleanliness and room couldn't be better. Breakfast and evening meal were up to the usual spoons standard and even complimentary bottles of water. No trouble parking on the street nearby and Aldi opposite for anything you need.

Very good service and pretty decent food related to price, however, as in most UK restaurants and cafes, not 100% on the washing up -- but over several visits, seems to be improving.

In the centre of Camborne with an easy six minute walk to the overnight long stay car park. Wetherspoons rooms are always clean and comfortable. Great showers and tea making facilities not found in other similar hotels. Huge bar/restaurant area with the usual menu at very reasonable prices. If on business in the area again I’d definitely go back.

Stayed here a couple of nights with friends, a fantastic time. Very close to Camborne train station. 5 minute walk. The hotel was surprisingly in fantastic condition and was welcoming. The staff were attentive and friendly. I always get nervous around wavers so I inspect rooms I enter before I get comfortable. The toilet roll holders were loose and weren't functioning properly and the slide lamp was loose and wobbly which I reported (apparently I checked in just before the maintenance guy had a chance to fix them!). The room was huge! The popular hang out spot for my friends and I. The bathroom had a walk in shower and free standing tub. I do know that this isn't standard as my other friends room was a bit smaller- still clean and modern. The bed was big and comfortable. The TV was great, we hooked up our Nintendo switch dock and had a gaming night- there were no adjacent guests so we played until relatively late. The hotel provided bottled water and biscuits. To our delight we discovered they got topped up every day! Very useful for going out sightseeing. The room had AC which was great given we were experiencing a heat wave. Overall there are very few things to complain about. A great experience- I will never judge a Wetherspoons hotel again! Would highly recommend!

A group of four us us stayed in the John Francis Basset hotel whilst we did the Rat Race Man Vs Coast event. The two twin rooms we had for two nights were great, especially how much cheaper they were than practically EVERYWHERE else in Cornwall. We tried booking places nearer Penzance, etc. but they were just soooo much more expensive than this hotel. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful which made for a nice experience. The hotel is connected to a lively Wetherspoons pub, which can be accessed via a separate outside door or a room-key coded door right next to the bar. The bar is loud as you'd expect, but once you're in the hotel section, you don't hear any noise at all and it's very relaxing. I can't remember hearing a single noise on either night when we were in our rooms. We'd happily staying in this clean and tidy and reasonably priced hotel again.

We only had an overnight stay. The hotel was great, the room was clean and comfortable. We stayed on a Friday, the pub downstairs was very busy but the food was good and arrived 15 minutes. What more could you ask for.

My wife and I had a wonderful time staying at The John Francis Basset Hotel while celebrating our wedding anniversary. We were using the hotel as a hub while we checked out many of the great things to see and do in Cornwall. As for our stay at the hotel, our room (comfy bed) and ensuite (great water pressure in the shower) were spacious and spotless. The adjoining bar to the hotel was kept in ship shape fashion with well-kept beer and tasty grub. But it was the staff of both the hotel and bar that made our stay so enjoyable. Everyone was very kind and courteous. I even had help organizing surprise flowers for my wife at breakfast. This a great example of how hospitality should be. I thoroughly recommend this hotel and wouldn't hesitate in going back. I hope we do one day.
