I have stayed in Falmouth several times and this was my worst experience. In summary these were the issuesV smelly drainsPromised sole use of bathroom but others using itNo lock on bathroom doorScalding hot water in shower unable to change the temperature - this was a dangerous health and safety issueNo toilet rollBroken Toilet seatTired and dirty communal hallwaysSmoke alarm in room flashingBreakfast on first day was poor, no granola or yogurt although advertised - burnt stale toastBreakfast Second day only continental available - not told this in advance - Very undercooked inedible croissants only or white stale bread absolutely unacceptablePhotos of the hotel on the website are very misleadingNo food available in the eveningsI am incredibly upset about this. If I was staying in a budget hotel you might expect some of these things but I paid over £300 for 2 nights! For this amount of money you expect a lot lot better. I am not a complainer but feel completely conned and entitled to some refund. so far no communication from manager apologising or offering compensation.Manager absent during stay leaving young staff completely overwhelmed.Rooms: ok bed comfortable and good viewSafety: Scalding shower - unable to change temperatures - complete safety hazard especially for childrenNo loo roll and disgusting smelly drainsFood & drinks: No evening Meal available although advertised as could be booked. Terrible breakfast on the first day no granola or yogurt although advertised and stale burnt toast. on the second day no cooked breakfast available on offer stale white bread and undercooked inedible croissants absolutely disgusting

We booked in for Sunday lunch in May 2023. We had booked in March 2023 so the venue did have a chance to tell us of any problems with the booking. We arrived at the Mariners at 2.10pm for our 2.30pm booking. All of the doors were locked and when we looked through the windows, there was a mattress propped up in the kitchen. We rang both numbers shown on the door of the Mariners but there was no answer from either. I sent a message to the Mariners complaining about not hearing anything to cancel our booking prior to us arriving. They said that their managers had walked out the day before and they had no choice but to remain closed. Funnily enough though, we walked past later that same evening and the Mariners was open with customers sitting inside and outside the pub. PLEASE BEWARE, the booking tool is still live for the Mariners and you could find yourself disappointed and with nowhere to go for much if you book here.

This pub with rooms is very tired and looks neglected. The rooms have thin walls and noisy plumbing. The standard of cleanliness is poor with a disgustingly dirty door leading to the rooms from the bar. The whole place needs a refresh and sprucing up. The breakfast was good and the staff especially behind the bar and the chef were excellent.

I have stayed before and at that time it was ok nothing super special but comfortable. Not this time… there is no longer food at lunch or dinner. The room , while clean, was uncomfortable, the single bed squeaked and was sprung which meant I was poked all night. The blind would shut and there are no curtains. A flashing smoke alarm and banging doors. I was told breakfast was 9-10. I am an early riser, but understand you wouldn’t serve until maybe 8 , but 9?? Most people want to go out and get on by then even on holiday, which I wasn’t. The only plus is it’s location. Looks like they have a sign looking for someone to take it over and now they just don’t care about the place.

Do not come here to stay. The rooms are decieable We were greeted by the lovely blonde girl on reception, she was the only member of staff working the whole bank holiday Sunday. Not only did we come back to the hotel trashed downstairs, including the pool que smashed and tables outside. But the bathroom upstairs which is shared between five bedrooms had a smashed toilet seat! The shared shower has mould alongside all the soaps/shampoos being empty and open on arrival. Shocked by a huntsman spider crawling from a crack in the bathroom wall. The bedroom was horrific, we weren’t shown to our room just sent upstairs, where we were greeted with a room that looked nothing like the photos. THE WALLS ARE PAPER THIN. We heard the neighbours up shagging and talking until 2am. We were knackered, after contacting reception we heard nothing back. The next morning, the lovely blonde girl was still hoovering as everyone was having a continental breakfast. No fry up or hot breakfast supplied! Which was not nice for my partner who’s birthday it was, nothing to make him feel a small bit special on his 22nd. The tap sink needs to be fixed aswell. The safety feature is missing on the door between the second flight of stairs, it slams so loud and we could hear it from room 5. As well as a bath towel was missing from our bedroom. £88 down the drain, we want a refund after this horrible experience. We just want to say that the girl on the reception was on the brink of tears by the abandonment of your staff on this manic Sunday.

Went for Sunday lunch. Booked in advance as we knew it was dog friendly. Really lovely Sunday lunch friendly staff and good choice of beers/ales. All in all good value for money. Would definitely revisit

Had a short stay at the Mariners recently and everything was absolutely spot on. I made an initial telephone enquiry regarding my visit, Lisa was exceptionally helpful with with a wonderful telephone manner. In person she's just as professional, helpful and friendly. I arrived early but was allowed to check in early. As a solo traveler I'd booked a single room but had already been bumped up to an excellent double room with harbour views (see attached pic). Thank you guys. The room was clean, spacious and modern. Couldn't ask for more. But the breakfast........wow! Top quality ingredients cooked and presented to perfection. 2 eggs, 2 bacon, sausage , mushrooms, beans, black pudding, sausage slice, tomato (properly cooked), cheese stuffed hash brown and thick wholemeal toast. Didn't need anything else all day (see pic) And, if you're lucky, limited but free parking right outside the hotel 2 minutes walk to the harbour, 3 minutes walk to the town centre. All round it's absolutely ideal.

Utterly disappointing. The online photos of the rooms look so nice and inviting. But definitely not what you get! I booked an extra large king bed room through booking.com and we checked in to a twin room. We were told as we’d booked through booking.com we would have to take it up with them. The room was nothing like any of the pictures advertised online. Tired, dated, grubby…. For the price we paid we expected a lot more. We stayed sat-tues. 3 nights. Came down for breakfast on Sunday and ordered a full Cornish breakfast. That was good. Came down for breakfast on Monday to be told it’s continental on Mon & Tues, and we should have had an email or been informed at check in - neither had happened. The food was laid out on the bar. Croissants. One pain au chocolat, 2 small boxes of cornflakes, a bowl with weetabix in and a bowl with muesli. Definitely not good enough for the price per night we paid! Really really disappointed with our stay. And to top it all there were no curtains in the room, just flimsy blinds that didn’t close properly so as soon as it was light outside we were awake. Looking forward to going home to get a decent nights sleep. Highly recommend staying somewhere else as the website is very deceiving

Comfortable rooms, helpful and polite staff, slightly tatty but not awful, good vegetarian and vegan options for breakfast.Walkability: Close by the marina and at one end of the high street. 15 minute walk over to the beaches... Great location.

The pictures on the website are very misleading. Rooms are dirty, smell of mould and very tired. Our shared bathroom was not very clean and the shower had black mould all around it. The chef was ill so there was no cooked breakfast. The one lady on duty had to go to tescos to get items to provide a continental breakfast. She was also unable to provide any toaster. The toilets in the bar/restaurant all had broken seats and there was dried vomit on the floor. All in all not pleasant.

The only good thing about this place is the couple running it and the location besides that I wouldn't bother the shower was full of mould the toilet hadn't been cleaned the mattress was such a cheap quality I ended up sleeping on the floor with cushions the carpets and decor wouldn't look out of place in a crime scene. A deep clean and a revamp in the rooms would make such a difference.

I have reached out to complain through Booking.com but they said they have tried to contact you and have had no response. We feel thoroughly scammed by the room we were provided. As you can see below, the picture of even the most basic room on booking.com is night and day away from what we got. The room was extremely shabby, not very clean, the TV was an old computer monitor with a controller that didn't work, the shower in the shared bathroom ran freezing or burning hot only AND at night a fan in the room that we couldn't switch off was extremely loud and disturbed our sleep. And all this for £77 which is not cheap at all! The staff were nice but that's the only good thing we can say.

Visited for lunch with some friends and thought we'd try the new 'Mariners' management a try. Ate in the garden out the back which is very pleasant, if in need of some tlc. Food and drink OK, but nothing to write home about. Odd in that they asked for us to pay before the meals arrived, never had that before... don't think we look the sort that'd do a runner ?

We visited Falmouth. We had a superb Sunday lunch it was really nicely cooked and presented, we had roast beef and brownie for dessert. The staff were lovely especially our waiter Jason and waitress Alisha. I would definitely recommend and return. Jeremy and Katharine x
