These people just turned away two pensioners wanting to shelter from a gale because we had a dog - an elderly Miniature Schnauzer. Our broken down car has been towed away and we just needed somewhere out of the wind for half an hour until our friends can pick us up. Apparently this indiscriminate dog ban is policy for all Brewers Fayre and other Whitbread establishments. They claim to be in the 'hospitality sector'!

Service on Christmas day was absolutely disgraceful. No fault of the staff, just not enough of them. We had to clear our own plates to make room to get our carvery, which we had no idea when to go up for it, wasn't told. Never again, Christmas lunch disaster, very disappointing.

Came here for lunch with the childrenQueued up to order. Server finished serving the person in front and then walked away. Someone else said they would just finish with their custome and would be with us. Other server started putting glasses away. Not once were myself or others waiting acknowledged.Ordered food and then waited 45 minutes for 2 burgers, loaded nachos and a kids pasta. It was not busy. When the food finally arrived, it tasted like it had been sat around for a while. The burgers were dry and the buns had gone crispy. Some of the nachos were soggy.Been here many times and this has been the worsg experience we have had and will be reluctant to return.

Christmas day dinner! Was told by another lady before we even got into the door to get a refund! Was prebooked for 4.30 arrival, got there to be told they stopped serving food at 4pm. Waited at least 45 minutes to be seated! Half of our food didn't even come out. Our family was trying to make something out of this Christmas as we lost our mother 7 weeks ago! This service is poor! Very very under staffed.Maybe any other time to visit would be ideal but definitely not over the "festive" season.

Myself and other Customers should not be waiting 45 mins for there food when the place is less than half full. This place is understaffed and producing poor food, my mixed grill steak barely filled the palm of my hand and was burnt....genuinely.However on the other hand, it's not fair or right that people knowingly leave there tables in a mess and leave food thrown on the floor and source sachets of tomato and tar tar sources sprawn everywhere and has not been cleaned up ...even when i was shown to my table no. 29 there was clearly food debris on the carpet from the last people that was there, do they act in this manner at home, this is not acceptable and frankly disgusting.I will be making contact with Dominic paul CEO for whitbread that owns brewers fair this place needs to be dealt with when people look at the reviews and see what goes on, will not return till this place is turned around for the better.

Christmas Day lunch… well what can I say?We booked up several months ago for our 3 course meal, and had to pay the deposit in person, which is generally no issue, but myself and my family live 200 miles away in Gloucestershire so was a slight inconvenience, but I made the drive to pay the bill.We booked up for 1:30, and arrived slightly early, we were seated and waited just over an hour and 15 minuets for our starter. The carvery wasn’t bad, lots of meat that tasted satisfactory however the gravy was like water. It’s now just gone 4pm and we and many others are still waiting for the deserts. The elderly couple next to my family have been here since 12:20 and are in the same situation.Very understaffed and the service is dreadful.

We was greeted my a friendly member of staff, at first and shown to our table. When ordering our food Marie R took our order, wasn’t very friendly and very short. The food took a long time and was burnt when it came out. I was a little shocked as it wasn’t very busy, Once finished waited 45 minutes for pudding. Order the profiteroles which came out frozen. Only two deserts came out, had to wait for another two desert. The service was terrible. Would not rate

Got there and ordered, food took 2 hours to come. Food was cold! The meal wasn't even what it said in the menu. The staff didn't even ask why we wanted a refund because we had complained multiple times about it. This is the first time that has happend in there, usually the service is quick.

Booked a table for daughters birthday (had a 50% off voucher) after ordering at the bar, double checking order and having the order read back to me we then waited 45mins for food for one of our meals not to have been put on the order! Which made 3 lasagnas and a smothered chicken come to £43 which Included the 50% off. Drinks machine out of most drinks. Portions very small, literally a kids portion of lasagne and one slice of hard garlic bread. Went McDonald's on the way home

Although it was one of the few eateries open, it did little to encourage a second visit. The wait for our order was over 30 mins and the food, when served looked as if it had been kept under a heat source for a similar length of time and was pretty much dried up. (Perhaps they forgot us⁉️?)Disappointing.

What can I say service is slow when it wasn't busy. Plus when the waitress came to take my plate way, I mentioned I was ready for my desert waited for 15+ mins still didn't arrived walked out before i did speak to duty manager mentioned the rubbish service and didn't get my desert part of my Premier Inn Meal deal. While I waited for my main course that did arrived the cutlery was fithy. I will not recommend this place

We had breakfast here while staying at the Premier Inn next door. Food choices were very good and plenty available. Seemed to be only one or 2 people keeping everything going but they did a fabulous job. We ate here on a fouple of evenings, always busy but again great value for money, not too long to wait once ordered and the Christmas menu was excellent. Sunday eve was very busy, but the carvery looked really good and was obviously the most popular choice.

Called in with our 2 young grandchildren for breakfast on our way home after a lovely short break on a caravan site where we had to vacate by 10am, we were literally a couple of minutes past last orders for breakfast (10:33am) to be turned away and told no food could be ordered till 12 midday. Lots of spare tables and staff standing around, Staff asked how many people for, giving us the impression we could sit and have food, when told she rolled her eye, RUDE..... and very u professional, no compassion at all for fact we had young children, Disgusting...........! Obviously NOT a family friendly pub at all. Shame on you.............! Avoid Avoid Avoid......

Went in for breakfast, warm at best, rubbery eggs under a heat lamp, dry sausages, cold beans! Of course its all you can eat for £10.... I definitely wouldn't go back for seconds! Coffee was nice though, but it did come from a machine so the staff had little input to its quality. Oh, nearly forgot, soya milk was off... I mean "lumpy" off!
