Wow! We were heading to the fancy pants restaurant owned by a famous chef down the road and I'm so glad they were fully booked because the food at Oceanside is utterly amazing! Literally the best meal out I've had in years! The staff were friendly and aim to please. Lovely atmosphere and well decorated interior although my girlfriend was annoyed because I was memorised by the TV showing the sea fish ?. The food though.....WOW!!! I had the shrimp starter and Cornish seafood main and it was tremendous...and there's loads of it. Honestly, make an effort to walk there (it's a nice walk) and enjoy the amazing food.

For once a decent hotel which we could not fault .starting with a very nice polite receptionist . Our room was newly decorated , lovely pale blues and grey , really comfortable bed, gorgeous views over the golf club and sea. There was a beach theme running through this contemporary style hotel, a busy buzzing bar, nice modern seating outside Lovely breakfasts and good cocktails. All staff were friendly and in a great location.

I was a fan when it was the Carnmarth but if anything it’s even more welcoming now. Good friendly staff, delicious hot food at a good price and a good range of drinks. Always the first stop when we arrive in Newquay too early to check in to our lodgings so I’ve only ever been for food and drink. But I’d definitely consider staying. Yet another enjoyable visit.

Good location .. very close to Fistral beach , 10 minute walk into town centre. Hotel looks nice from afar but can see issues when you look closer. For example hook on back of bathroom door was snapped, tv controller was filthy, room had unpleasant smell, no hand soap. Majority of staff were really friendly and would go the extra mile to help. Wouldn’t rush back but ideal for a night away .. couldn’t imagine staying much longer

Fantastic hotel, staff were all friendly, food was brilliant, room was lovely and clean, light and airy. Bathroom could do with a little updating i.e mirror was a bit out dated and there was no where to put your shampoo and body wash when taking a shower. Had to put it on the floor. Apart from that the room was fab. Lovely comfy bed and balcony was great to sit out on in the morning with a coffee taking on the sea view. Breakfast was lovely, the ladies on breakfast were very friendly, it had a gorgeous restaurant beach theme which ran through most of the hotel. The corridors were the only thing that let this place down and I mean only slightly! A few pictures up here and there on the blank walls would make so much difference but I am really clutching at straws for any faults!! Bar food was lovely we ate there twice and had a few cocktails too in a relaxed atmosphere. 5 min walk to the beach and 10 min walk to the town. Great little coastal walk at the back of the hotel. Will definitely return. We loved it.

Four of us stayed two nights whilst walking the SW coast path. The hotel was comfortable and the staff friendly but it was a bit lacking in atmosphere. The breakfast was good, we didn’t eat in the restaurant. There was no housekeeping so the rooms weren’t cleaned on day 2. Presumably this is a result of Covid but it seemed a bit unnecessary and not something we encountered elsewhere.

Walked in off the street one evening and sat outside. Had the best fish and chips and the loveliest service. We loved it so much we went back the next night. Great little place - a real find. It was so much better than the expensive place down on the beach which was totally overrated,

We stopped by for lunch on our way back from the beach. Food was first class (Waygu burger and fish & chips) and the staff extremely friendly. The interior bar was modern and airy, with great outdoor seating on the front terrace - it was a beautiful day, which added to the experience.

We only stayed here for one night, our room was on the first floor, we had a nice view from the window. Opposite was Newquay Golf Club and the beach, sea to the right. The room was nice, we decided to have dinner at the hotel, food was really nice. Big bar/resturant area and you can sit outside which was mostly undercover, with music. Breakfast was situated in another room, the choice of breakfast was fairly good. The only thing we wasn't aware of was the parking, you had to pay £5 per night for parking which was a couple of mins from the hotel.

We were a group of 8 in total who stayed at the hotel for a hen weekend we ended up booking 4 rooms in total to accommodate us for the duration of the stay! Everything and we mean everything was absolutely incredible!!!! The hotel downstairs is beautifully renovated and couldn’t be more inviting and we can’t say enough for the included breakfast because there isn’t a review page long enough! Rooms are also lovely and decorated with an ocean theme which fits the aesthetic and nearby localities beautifully, we had a little niggle with the shower head when we first arrived but within minutes was resolved. Staff were super friendly and accommodating toward us, parking was also an added bonus which again we couldn’t fault! Newquay centre and fistful beach is a stone throw away so perfect location if you didn’t want to drive anywhere during the stay! We will definitely be back and have raved on about the hotel and it’s staff to all family and friends! Thank you again for having us love Kelly and the hens xxx

We stayed as part of a group and found the staff very helpful and obliging and the rooms very comfortable I’d love to return as a couple or smaller group too, as the food looked even nicer from the a la carte menu. Thank you so much for looking after us so well

The Hotel has an enviable setting overlooking Newquay Golf Course and Fistral beach. It’s perfect for drinks and people watching. The terrace and deck area have been beautifully done with some lovely seating areas in coastal colours. During our week in Newquay we enjoyed going for a drink and the view; If it became colder then their are lovely comfortable sofas by the log burner. We decided to book for dinner and had a wonderful evening. The Prawns Pil Pil are the best we’ve tasted outside Spain and the Affogato was sublime. Service was exceptional. Big thank you to Wes. We look forward to seeing you again next month.

Sadly we were treated extremely badly by the reception staff and manager when we had a disturbed night's sleep and we asked for a refund after reporting it to another member of staff at checkout. This was promised when we left as long as paid because the member of staff that was checking us out acknowledged it had happened because her brother was the night porter and attended twice to the couple having an altercation and had to threaten Police. It finished late into the next morning and resulted in no sleep. We are elderly we were unable to go downstairs to report because the angry couple were outside our room most of the night. There was no telephone to call reception. After being offered a complimentary stay forc1 night we called to say we live to far away for thar to be viable and would like the refund. The receptionist was hostile, rude, aggressive and was showing off infront of her Manager who was with her.Never have I been subjected to such appalling, u kind and unprofessional comments that were uncalled for unkind.I asked the receptionist's name she cut me off knowing she had completely overstepped the mark with such shocking behaviour.I emailed because had already got her name and her Manager responded with a pack of lies to support her staff member that was so clearly in the wrong. The first one had laughed at one stage inappropriately. Her Manager says was in tears naturally from knowing she had handled this completely wrongly and her friend her Manager ganged up on us and refused the refund and was also very rude. The owner needs to know what amateur, rude staff he has employed who have no Customer Service experience and need training. We will never set for in a place that treated us this way through no fault of our own and continue to lie to cover their appalling behaviour We were going to overlook the chaos at breakfast the last day but there were not enough seats and we waited ages to be served..only to receive cold breakfasts squashed on a table with guests unknown to us in Covid times..unacceptable amd disappointing.
