Mr Monday

In the end we did not go for the Winter menu. Arancini and croquetas were delicious. Couple of pizzas and a Spanish red. 50 pounds/head and could easily be more…. Its a special lunch in Padstow with attentive service. Recommend!

Across the board excellent. Good cocktails to start, cracking olives, very well cooked squid and some tasty anchovies. We followed with some gorgeous pasta with Sobrasada and also a fantastic monkfish tail. Our only criticism would be that desserts were all quite rich after a big meal. Service was swift, friendly but not overbearing. Well done everyone!

We eat out frequently and this in one of the tastiest meals I've had in long while. At first glance we thought the menu was a little limited but everyone chose different dishes which were all very fresh and tasty. I'd prefer a restaurant to concentrate on quality rather than quantity. The waiter recommended a great bottle of wine and both wine and food were reasonably price. All staff were excellent too.

It is always a pleasure (and a relief) to revisit somewhere that you have enjoyed in the past to find that it remains very good. We have been to Rojanos at or around New Year for several years now and it is consistently excellent. The food is great - an extensive list of pizzas but plenty of a la carte options as well. They also have a separate vegetarian menu, although you may need to ask for this. There is a great buzz about Rojanos. The staff are really excellent, friendly and welcoming but also very efficient. The winelist is long but some of the less expensive options are pretty good if you are working to a budget and our waitress was certainly knowledgable in offering advice. There is plenty of choice when it comes to renowned restaurants in Padstow but we think that Rojanos is up there with the best - very well run, with great food and excellent service.

My wife and I visit the Padstow area 3 or 4 times a year and always look forward to our visits to Caffe Rojano. We go at least 6 times a year and the consistency of this place is amazing. From the great service and incredible food it never disappoints. I suffer from photophobia which means I'm sensitive to bright lights and they always accommodate me by saving me a slightly darker table in the restaurant. The Staff and food at Rojanos are a credit to the owner Paul Ainsworth

We had dinner here just after Christmas and can honestly say we were thoroughly disappointed with the whole meal. I had the braised ox cheek tagliatelle which I have had at Rojanos before and it was bland and incredibly uninspiring. My partner had the Diavola pizza which was pretty nondescript however the Caffe Rojano fries were very tasty. We had a bottle of red 2021 A Mano Primitivo which was very pleasant but not worth £42 when you can buy it from the off licence for £14. Such a shame as we have been dining here for several years but feel it has lost its sparkle and that they are just going through the motions of serving customers like a typical Harvester restaurant. However the staff were excellent, very polite and attentive but Paul Ainsworth you’ve lost touch with your restaurant ☹️

My partner and I both had the burgers. One of the tastiest burgers we have ever had and the service was excellent. Fantastic location & ambience. Thank you

Loved this place - the food was excellent as was the company. The waitresses were so professional and attentive. They made one feel at home throughout the meal. I chose a burger, mainly because I can study a menu for yonks and be so non-committal, that I always end up with the Caffe Rojano cheeseburger - it consisted of a grilled aged rib patty, 4 cheeses, salami Milano, sherry cured tomato, baby gem, pickles, crisp onion rings and Cornish sea salt skinny fries - I want want now! I wasn't disappointed at all - it was superb! My partner had the braised oxtail cheek and tagliatelle and it too proved to be a big hit. Also loved sampling the Hispi cabbage garnished with Pecorino Romano, truffle mayonnaise and crisp onion. A local beer complemented the hamburger nicely. Thank you to all of the staff for a wonderful experience enjoyed at Caffe Rojano by Paul Ainsworth. The man himself was visible and chatted top patrons. Next, across the pond to The Mariner in Rock ...

This was our 5th visit, it’s become a December tradition for us. All previous visits have felt special and we had food and service that was exceptional. Previously you had a great maitre de an Italian gentlemen who had a style and passion for welcoming you, sorry to see he wasn’t there ; he really added to the experience. The menu seems to be tuned down , more quick turn around Pizza than a food bonanza that we had previously looked looked forward to . The whoopsy splunker was as always stunning, please don’t lose that! Apologies it seems negative but we think you need to be aware that you have lost a bit of the sparkle we enjoyed

We have always had a great experience here on previous visits but this was on another level! We opted for the 3 course winter menu for £21 and how they do it for that price I have no idea because every course was exceptional, the minestrone soup being literally the best I have had in my life, something echoed by the customers around us. Great service and welcome for us and 3 large dogs without any fuss.

This is set down side street in padstow and a little gem of a place with great quality food. We sat down then ordered drinks, then had time to look at menu. You had choice of set menu for 21 starters, pizza then pud. We didn’t go for that. One had pork chop, two had hake and one had beef burger.. each was delicious. The pork chop was a good price but very good size and worth every penny. As was other meals. There was a bar with seats upstairs which looked nice. Waiter was good and knew all the questions we asked about the menu. Only thing really to consider was the music! It was bit loud and booming! We did inform waiter and he turned it down and said it was a long playlist, as we asked for Christmas music ?. Would recommend and return when we visit again in summer.

The service was excellent but the food was nowhere near the level the price tag demands. We had high expectations having seen Paul Ainsworth on TV, we accepted this was not the Michelin starred restaurant but still had high hopes. The restaurant seemed tired and the food just wasn't that great. We started with a watery prawn and uninspiring sauce. The mackerel cookery was excellent but had nothing of note with it and seasoning was lacking. For mains we had a tasty fish but nothing with it, you had to spend almost £10 for some broccoli. The ox-cheek was by far the best dish but it still lacked an unctuous sauce. We opted against puddings based on being disappointed with previous courses and everything was soft serve ice cream based. Had we paid £50-£60 I would have felt we'd had a good meal (prawns aside) but for £90+ it was way off that standard in terms of food, tired decor and even things like the salt and pepper grinders were gunked up. Poor value for money

Lovely afternoon spent at Rojano. Service was chilled and attentive, food was superb. The ox cheek tagliatelle is superb, rich flavours. Wife had the Hake which was also excellent. The man himself Paul Ainsworth was having lunch here too, so you know it must be good.

Great place to eat in Padstow and quite affordable for the area. The food was top quality and very tasty, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the hostess recommended to us a Mushroom Bruschetta which we had as a side with our meals and it was fantastic. 5/5 will visit
