“Found this place(s) by chance. There are 2 neighbouring places. The food is first class. Fresh sea food dishes prepared with skill and care. Unmissable if you are in Newlyn (couldn't be closer to the harbour) or Penzance. The staff are friendly and clearly love working in this excellent restaurant. Small plates of joy. BTW the owner/chef has a great tattoo.”

“Great experience, lovely restaurant situated on the fishing harbour frontAgree with some of other reviews, got excited ordering the half lobster, but it annoyingly came overcooked, lacking flavour and super underwhelming as it was hard prawn like. The yellow beans, dried scallop and chilli was to die for, as were the sardines. On the side front, the side salad was great, new potatoes with green sauce lacking again any flavour, it seemed to be the same sauce as on the lobster. The braised courgette was so mushy and the texture was awful, we left it completely. Disappointing as the sides should really compliment the great mains. To finish the hazelnut tart with greengages was so delicious, but our final mouthful left us with a super burnt bitter taste as the tart had been burnt and covered with a mass of icing sugar,Overall good experience but left slightly disappointed when paying, some extra TLC on some of the dishes would made this experience 100% amazing.Service was a joy.I would definitely recommend this place to others and i hope my comments come across as constructive to Argoe.”

“Something of a Penzance Tradition having been in business for at least 40yrs, run chef Roger Harris with his wife running the front of house. Not a massive menu and centred around seafood, everything is beautifully cooked by Roger in a traditional French style. The restaurant is small and intimate with decor that has never changed but this is great as you always know what you are going to get.Great food and friendly efficient service, never had a bad meal in 30yrs somewhere you can always rely on.”

“Cosy place with excellent service. The food is delicious and the ambiance is very welcoming. A must visit. Park at the carpark near the restaurant as they don't have parking. A minutes walk but worth it.”

“We absolutely loved it on a quiet Wednesday in July. The room is beautiful and it's all very comfortable. There are great views. We had fantastically friendly service. And, most importantly, the food was lovely. Strongly recommend the seafood platter. The sizzling brownie and tres leches cake were both fantastic. Drinks perhaps a bit expensive but overall we paid £60ish for two people (mains and desserts), which was well worthwhile for a lovely evening out.”
