A proper pub in a proper town ( Don't call it a village ) and they serve Proper Job. Lovely open fires, and friendly and warm staff. Bring a Pasty to eat in.

Great atmosphere, great beer, great place. No food just a proper pub. We welcome the visitors and Ive made a good few mates. Its about the beer and the conversation. What else do you want in a pub.

Horrific place. Took my partner who understandably felt extremely uncomfortable due to very sexist and derogatory remarks about women made by the customers, especially an Irish man. Unfortunately the barman did nothing about it so we left. What century are these people living in??

They do not serve food but a great

Noname Noname1

people who come there are traitors, people who suck out information and then leak it to the whole village, people who cannot be trusted, people who are hypocritical and all their smile and courtesy is actually fake, only those who are not adequate go

I have given this pub 5 stars for everything, but they don't serve food so that is a pointless question. The food is only as good as what you bring with you which you are welcome to do here Pasties bought from the butchers next door, sandwiches from shops in the square , or the picnic you have prepared at home. The food rating is down to you . Oh, they sell 5 star crisps.Good beer and a very friendly crowd. Service at the bar is faultless

Proper old school

Great historic pub. Really atmospheric interior. Friend hard working staffWhat makes it special is the local music night on a Thursday 8 until late. Wide variety of local musicians doing a few songs each. Great supportive atmosphere.

Above average food quality, reasonably priced. Busy seafront pub, appeared well-run. But beer prices almost like London's, even for local brews!

We just fell upon this pub by accident and were so glad we had. It's a real spit and sawdust pub ( not many of them around these days) with lots of character. We only had drinks which were very reasonably priced. Extremely friendly locals but for us the icing on the cake was the hilarious landlord who had us laughing from the minute we entered, not very often you come across someone like that these days. Had we had more time we would definitely have gone back.Massive well done to you and all your locals for making our visit a memorable one

We had lunch as a group of 4, I ordered the ‘Large slice of beef and ale pile’, it was anything but large, no where near enough for a filling meal, the others in our group had reasonable sized meals and all were reasonably tasty enough but my meal was quite disappointing. To their benefit when I mentioned my disappointing meal size I received a free sweet but it wasn’t sweets I wanted to fill up on.

Best pint and pastie you'll ever have, once you've climbed for it.
