“Easily the best pub we've been to in the UK hands down, if you are even remotely in the area make sure you come. Nick the publican has been here for 40 (four zero!!!) Years and has built this place into an amazing centre of community and happyness. There are pretty much events on every night and everyone we met was so happy and welcoming, the food was fantastic as well and there are a great selection of beers and other options. We arrived on a Tuesday and were treated to a night of shanties and decided to stay another night for Wednesday to enjoy a band of 20 local musicians playing beautiful Cornish music. Honestly one of the most surreal and amazing experiences we've had while campervaning around Europe and the UK, we really can't thank Nick and his team of lovely staff enough. We are already planning on coming back!!”

“What a gem we hit upon whilst staying locally! Genuinely welcoming, eager to lease, great, freshly made, pizza! We returned for Sunday afternoon for a brilliant few hours in a real community pub. The singer was really good, everyone was so friendly. Well done to all, excellent!”

“We had family visiting over the last few weeks and found this place was our go-to for meals. Everyone enjoyed their meal at each of the 4/5 sittings that we went. The food is consistently delicious and such a wide range available.Drinks are cheap compared to most of our locals now.All the staff are friendly and helpful. The singer was very good, and Tank's quiz was ace.Definitely recommend and will be returning many, many more times.Vegetarian options: There are plenty of options for vegetarian and good tasty options, not just meatless mains like you find elsewhere.Kid-friendliness: Definitely kid friendly with a park just outside. You can sit and watch the little ones play while you have a drink.Parking: Loads of parking around backWheelchair accessibility: The front entrance is flat and easily wide enough for a wheel chair.”

“Booked Sunday carvery for four adults in this dog friendly pub. Made very welcome and given menu on arrival. We all opted for the carvery with a choice of three meats. All meats were cooked to perfection, and a good portion served. The vegetable selection were excellent and cooked yo perfection. All the food was piping hot and we were all satisfied. Great choice of desserts, presented by pleasant and efficient staff. A lovely treat on our doorstep and really appreciated.”

“Didn't have any food as we were on our way back from a lovely pizza in the car park of the Portreath Arms. Definitely next time. But the atmosphere and friendliness of everyone was great!”
