We love this place. A proper pub. The food is always excellent. Lovely roast on Sunday. Lightly smoked pork cooked to perfection, with all the trimmings. Good price too. This is how a pub should be. Good local ales, excellent wine and a friendly welcome. Fab walks too after the lunch!

Very good evening meal. Food was tasty, the lady serving us/behind the bar was friendly, and it was very cosy. Slight lack of atmosphere for a Saturday night but still an enjoyable evening.

Their Sunday roast is simply exceptional. Lovely welcome as always, fantastic service and the food is top notch. We were here for one of their curry nights recently too which again was amazing. The pub is well situated if you fancy a walk before or afterwards.

Absolutely charming family pub. Such a warm welcome. We enjoyed a delicious family meal, delighted and surprised to discover the entire menu is GLUTEN free. Huge portions, loads of beautifully cooked veg and huge Yorkshire Puddings. Would definitely recommend, especially if you are a Coeliac or have Gluten Intolerance

What a wonderful pub, off the beaten track but a well worth a visit. Fresh Home cooked food at its best. The menu was a mix of all different things great for a wet cold lunchtime visit in front of their wood burner fire. We had the mulled cider add it was just before Christmas, followed by sausage and mash , and a large portion of white bait. The mac & cheese and chilli was to die for . Go on give it a try.

Love the food, the fire and the vibe. Great village pub with wonderful family team to make you feel welcome. The problem is deciding which delicious option off the menu to try, but, the Mac n cheese is just stunning!

What a lovely welcome we had in this public house. We arrived in a big group to play some instruments and sing together, we had a fantastic evening of music and song ? The food is of very high standard . Having a fire going and the local customers joining in made for a brilliant evening. I highly recommend this public house and would like to Thank Sarah Ted and family for there hospitality. Also the location of this beautiful place is blessed with stunning scenery set in the Tamar Valley.

Had a lovely lunch here with couple friends for his birthday. Really good home cooked food and a cosy pub with a log burner. Lovely landlady serving us. Will be going back soon.

Definitely a trend in how I rate gluten free restaurants, but for someone with coeliac disease, I cannot stress enough how fantastic an entirely gluten free restaurant is for us. Despite the not let me just say the food was still AMAZING. Lovely Yorkshire puddings that come with the roast and I am glad I randomly found this place. The food is good despite it being GF so not just gluten free people need to go. Recommended to everyone. The staff were also lovely, welcoming and knowledgable. The whole place also had a classic local pub feel. All 8 of us that dined were more than pleased.

Can I just start by saying the quality of the food is very high , however tonight's experience completely soured our evening there, and we will never be returning. We had just settled down with our drinks in the corner next to the fire eagerly waiting for our roast , when 3 adults , 2 young girls ( one a baby ) and a bull dog came loudly into the pub . After getting their drinks they sat down , but for some reason 1 of the men decided it would be a good idea to stomp around the pub swinging the screaming girl around and shouting at the top of his voice . This was constant and was trying to attract attention which he achieved. The dog who was not on a collar or lead ,decided to camp out next to us slobbering as wanted our food , and was not called away by them to leave us in peace , they were also all openly vaping and didn't give a damm about anyone else there . Unfortunately it got worse when both men decided it would be a good idea to put the baby in between them , lifting their tops up exposing their bare chests , touching themselves inappropriately, sticking their tongues in each others ears whilst taking selfies. We tried to blank it out but the noise being made was unbearable, and we couldn't finish our food quick enough . These people seemed to know the lady behind the bar as mentioned her name , unfortunately she seemed to turn a blind eye to it all , which must have been hard to do as they were right near her . When we left I felt I had to go back and ask to have a word with her outside , she seemed shocked but to be honest I don't believe her , as you could not miss what was going on . We won't be returning, which is a shame as the food is great but I'm shocked at what I saw and the woman behind the bar seemingly condoning it .
