Restaurants in Saltash
Rod & Line
Church Rd, Tideford, SaltashWe have been wanting to try this pub since we watched Rick Stein speak about it on tv a while ago. We visited the area for new year and were not disappointed with our experience at this quirky, cosy, welcoming pub. The staff are super friendly and remain full of smiles despite working in a very small, busy establishment. The menu is different from many other standard pubs. The choices are fabulous. Lots of appetising seafood and meat to choose from. They were also able to confidently accommodate a gluten free diet. We had the gumbo (absolutely delicious) steak and chilli. We all loved the food here. The pub is full of character, some tables are a bit of a tight squeeze but this and the candles dotted around adds to the ambience. We visit Cornwall often and will make The Rod and Line a must visit on our trips. Ps: also allows dogs. Winner!!

The Olde Plough Inn
Fore St, Bere Ferrers, YelvertonWe love this place. A proper pub. The food is always excellent. Lovely roast on Sunday. Lightly smoked pork cooked to perfection, with all the trimmings. Good price too. This is how a pub should be. Good local ales, excellent wine and a friendly welcome. Fab walks too after the lunch!

Heskyn Mill
Heskyn Mill, SaltashGreat food, however service was extremely slow, to the point we had to ask where our mains were. The landlord did comp us our 2nd round of drinks to apologise, but it still seems they'd forgotten about us! Nice little place, with friendly staff and beautiful old parts of the mill inside. Just a shame the service let down an otherwise brilliant visit.

Crocadon Farm
St Mellion, SaltashThe best meal I’ve ever had worldwide - the most impeccable concept, commitment and cuisine enacted with love and dedication; please support these wonderful humans. Such a rarity in the industry to see something born of and living its passion over pay checks and prestige - and I don’t think a Michelin (although utterly deserved) will change that.

The Weary Friar Inn
Pillaton, SaltashHad a lovely Mother's Day meal here. The food was first class, but the service was very slow. Obviously they were extremely busy, but we waited over 30 minutes for them to take our order for dessert, and over 30 for it to arrive. It won't put us off going again. It's a lovely old Inn, and the staff are wonderful.

Codfathers
Barclays Bank Plc, 28 Fore St, SaltashThe food especially the fish would have been delicious but it was so badly wrapped for takeaway, it was actually sandwiched in a pile of chips what would have been tasty crispy batter , was in fact a soggy mess. Subway
Callington Rd, SaltashMassive shoutout to the young guy working in Subway today - 1st September 23. I’d been to a family BBQ in Plymouth where I had unfortunately left my baby’s formula. He started crying when in traffic coming over the bridge. This resulted in me stopping for some ready to feed formula. Unfortunately I have a fussy baby who only likes their milk warm, so I stopped once again in Saltash services. Neither Burger King, subway or the travelodge could lend me their microwave to warm the milk. I phoned my partner distressed contemplating a screaming baby in the back of the car for the next hour. I went back to Subway and asked for a cup of boiling water, to mix with the formula so it was warm. I didn’t purchase anything from them but this guy gave me the water, no questions asked. It seems menial but honestly it saved both me and my son so much stress. I cannot thank him enough!
