Popped in for a few for my mates birthday with our families. It was a quiet monday summer evening and not many customers, so the kitchen was closed after the busy weekend, but we didn't go out for food.Gent behind the Bar was first class. We brought a last-minute cake to make the day that extra bit special, but it soon dawned us we were completely unprepared. Lovely old fashioned pub with warm fires in winter, cool in summer: wooden furniture, stone floor and low oak beam ceiling. Welcoming to four legged friends. Usually full and relaxed atmosphere.
