Staff are friendly, my only problem with costa is that there is a lack of seating, when it s busy

Have visited a number of times before but today witnessed not only poor service but also a rude attitude to customers. It was lunchtime so busy. Food and drinks all served in takeaway containers as they didn't have time to wash up. I accept new staff have to learn but there was no sense of urgency from any staff. When approached by customers their responses were rude and followed by staff laughing to each other. Unacceptable I shall not be visiting again.

These guys are on... "to good to go"..app to save food waste...so i ordered a magic bag via this app and paid...i then went to collect my order to be told "oh no weve got nothing left" thats not how it works..you dont advertise something you dont have and then let someone pay and then travel to your store to collect...also to add insult they didn't care...it was just well what do you want us to do....well not advertise something you dont have and let poor customers pay and travel to collect would be a good start..very poor

The white hot chocolate was neither hot or particularly chocolatey. More like warm milk. Not as good as in other Costa cafes.

Nice place for a warm or cold beverage and a quick bite to eat. Friendly staff.

Visit this Costa several times each week great staff and great coffee - nothing more needed to be said.

Service is always so slow since the staffing change. I think you need to retrain on efficiency or put someone else on the til. I've worked in the industry and this is not how it's done!

Fist time in st Austell, 3rd in queue it took 10 mins to serve a women wanting 3 drinks and a couple wanting 2 drinks all take out, 2 staff working. They got the 3 drinks wrong, not what was asked for and had to remake and charged the couple wronglyNever once apologised to either. Then stopped serving people in the queue and went off to do other things without explaining that there would be a small wait, just ignored everyone. We waited for at least another 10 mins with no sign of being servedThey had only made one further drink and still not spoken to anybody waiting to be served, just moaning to each other that they were too busy ( there was only one table with people sat at )We gave up and walked out as we had been there over 20 mins and were 3rd in queue. We just wanted a drink not to be ignored by incompetent and rude staff who were completely clueless. We went to Niles bakery just round the corner where we were greeted with a smile and pleasant staff who made our drinks and brought them over for us.Would avoid the Costa and go to Niles if you like great service and a lovely coffee at halve the price.

Seems that if you go on a Wednesday when 2 people working you don't get your drinks right. They can't make what you ask for and have to tell them how it's supposed to be made, making it uncomfortable as a customer so don't bother. Ran out of milk when I'm middle of drink, he couldn't be bothered to refill so ended up with half a drink. The shop itself OK and rest of staff know what they doing but these 2 don't so will just go on another day.

I think management need to review their customer service policy. The lady serving has a terrible attitude towards customers. I don't believe she should be working in a customer-facing role if she can't at least even part with a hello or thank you...just a grunt. I have no idea of her name...she has long dark hair and a vile attitude...you'll understand if you have the misfortune of meeting her!

Very clean but I'm not a fan of Costa as they are overpriced if however you like that sort of thing then you'll like this one .

Met a friend for a coffee and chat. Very impressed by the friendliness and efficiency of the staff. It is quite small inside, and was quite busy.

Having driven into St Austell and been totally underwhelmed (sad looking centre with empty units at every turn) we found this slightly out of town Costa. It’s located within a Travelodge and looked reasonably new and well cared for. Small outside sitting area which is a real sun trap - having said this the view of the car park is not the best! Good service, usual food selection and having since read the reviews here on TA - I recall there was a notice on the door re. the car parking restrictions, although there are formal notices around the perimeter of the car park (maybe these were not so obvious a while ago) A good choice on this occasion, although it would have been a pleasant change to find a local, good, independent!
