Stopped by for a light lunch. We ordered a crab sandwich and a prawn baguette with Marie Rose sauce, accompanied by a beer and a coke. The sandwich consisted of bog standard white bread smeared with mayonnaise with very little crab (not enough for the sandwich to bulge) and the prawns had no sauce. Before we left, we explained how awful the food had been. They promised to tell the kitchen staff and offered us a free drink. We were driving, so left.

This was not our first visit but the first time we stayed overnight. Lovely well equipped room finished to a very high standard. The high standard continues throughout the inn. Friendly helpful staff. Gorgeous food and great selection of drinks and amazing views. We will definitely stay here again ?

This was a late lunch on Mother's Day so maybe staff stretched. But several items ordered were forgotten and the service was delayed overall. The restaurant is pleasant and the site and view amazing. The food was underwhelming.Food & drinks: See review

Food & drinks: Overpriced food not worth it £29 f0r the steak and you get very little for the price. The peas had been way over cooked like eating tiny bullets. Save yourself some money and go else where. The only thing worth it is the view

Everything about this place is stunning, the location, the food, the staff and of course the crowning glories the sunsets over the sea and it's dog friendly ?

As a pub, I’d say the Port William Inn is one of the best pubs in the UK. The views are simply breathtaking, it is worth sitting outside even in wind of rain the take in the views. The selection of beers are mostly St Austell Cornish beers which are all delicious- it’s hard to pick which to choose. It is reasonably priced for a location like this at around £5 a pint. I didn’t eat lunch or dinner there so cannot comment on the food but everything looked and smelt delicious. The staff were nice and the pub is clean and warm with plenty of seating. It is dog friendly and there is a little station with water bowls and treats for your furry friend. We stayed here for 4 nights, 2 adults and 2 dogs, and the room was not big enough unfortunately. We were packed like sardines so spent very little time in the room due to this as it was extremely claustrophobic. The TV didn’t work either , only 4 channels worked and it was screwed to the wall so couldn’t plug a HDMI to use our own tv stick to watch Netflix etc. I understand that you don’t go away to watch tv, but when you’re outside all day walking/hiking/swimming/surfing, it would be nice to be able to relax in the room that you paid £200 a night for, which wasn’t possible due to being so cramped. That being said, the view was unbelievable, straight out on to the sea, and there’s a little fridge in the room that was replenished with fresh water and biscuits daily. When we arrived there was also a bowl, towel, a tennis ball and some ‘dog beer’ for the dogs and a bottle of beer for us which is a nice touch. And we were still about to relax in the pub in the evening. The staff were friendly when serving drinks but a bit chaotic and rushed when checking into the hotel as the bar is also the check in desk. There is a car park at the top for guests but this was full , so getting there was very stressful - cars are constantly coming up so we reversed back and began to unpack when another diner came out and shouted and screamed at us to move as we were interrupting her view - she wouldn’t stop shouting so eventually had to park at the bottom of the hill and carry all our stuff up which took several trips as we had a lot of gear, bags, and the dogs and their cage and beds to carry up, which wasn’t much fun after a 7 hour drive. The price of the room does include breakfast which is either a continental buffet with cereal, toast and fruit or a hot breakfast which is either a full English or a breakfast sandwich which has lovely and made with local fresh ingredients. Also a selection of juice/hot drinks to order.Overall, I really enjoyed my stay at the port William but will most likely stay in one of the full homes/apartments in trebarwith for future visits as they are a similar price so value for money wasn’t the best, but honestly with that view and having the best views over the sea in trebarwith, I guess they can charge what they want as the views are unmatched. In the area there is plenty to do. The beach in on the doorstep with a surf shop/cafe just below. You can walk straight from the hotel along the cliffs into Tintagel (about 1.5 miles) and continue along to Boscastle to extend this walk. Bear in mind this walk is stunning but steep and muddy in places. It’s a great base to explore Cornwall with Padstow and the camel trail being a half hour drive.Rooms: Small but cosy. Great views.Nearby activities: Walking, beach, surfing, bodyboardingFood & drinks: Pub selling lunch, dinner, great beer and gin selection, breakfast included.
