“A great spot for lunch. A real gem in a pretty little village. Really good wholesome pub food, generous portions, friendly, chatty and efficient hosts and good value for money. We can definitely recommend this place and will go back again soon. We had the squid and the chicken wings to start, followed by the best rib-eye steak I've tasted in a while and the fish basket for my husband. The wine was also very reasonably priced. We couldn't make the desserts as we were so full. Definitely worth another visit soon. Can't recommend it high enough.”

“Recently I won a Raffle prize for Sunday lunch for 2, kindly donated by The Royal Oak, I took two friends and we had a very enjoyable lunch. The meals were hot, nicely arranged on plates and a requested 'small' helping was observed. Pleasant atmosphere, nice wait staff, and we shall return.”

“We had a lovely and very comfortable stay in this beautiful pub. Very welcoming, food - both dinner and breakfast - was superb with multiple vegan options, and great selection of beers from local brewers.”

“Visited as part of our annual visit to Portscatho. Good food as usual - and the beer very good. Staff very friendly. Just need to be clear on its identity. It was Saturday evening and the people drinking at the bar spilled over to the dining area. Just an issue when very busy i think - but need to keep the balance right.”
