Had a nice experience at this pub, it’s massive inside, cosy clean and very friendly staff. Unfortunately I was very disappointed with my food. I had the Chicken with bacon and hand cut chips, when the chicken came it tasted like it was microwaved, it tasted like pork, super tough and hard to chew. I asked them to change it as I couldn’t eat it, I got a risotto instead and unfortunately that was very bland no flavour what so ever. I won’t be returning for food but for the pub it’s lovely.

Had a lovely meal here and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. We had the cheese fondue to start and it was one of the best things I have ever tasted! If they made a mac and cheese with that cheese sauce I would travel the 5 hours back to try it. Our mains were also both very tasty, we were rather full from the cheese but the staff were more than happy to box up our leftovers. Thanks!

Thank you for a wonderful meal. Service was brilliant even though you had an event on and staff off poorly. Fish and chips and belly pork all get 5/5 from us.

Walked past The Ship a couple of times whilst staying in the area and initially planned to call for just a drink. Took the plunge and decided to eat here too and so glad we did, the food was very good! Good portion sizes, sensible prices, well presented, good service but most importantly really tasty food - would certainly visit again if in the area based on this visit.

Great, swift service and good quality food. The gentleman serving today (2 Oct) was really polite, funny and a good host.

The pub restaurant we'd booked had an emergency so had to cancel us. We were rather 'lost' as to where to go. We had driven past this pub on a couple of occasions - the outside appears very drab - but we were stuck and it was getting late so we went in. What a wonderful surprise! We were warmly welcomed by the excellent Gail - she was lovely, professional, charming and made us feel immediately relaxed. The interior is excellent - so different to the outside. They have an excellent menu but we wondered what the quality would be - we were not disappointed! My husband had Hake with chorizo etc, I had a kind of chicken carbonara pasta (I commented that I'd never eat it all....but I did!!), daughter had fried chicken and plain pasta (she's a picky eater!!) and lovely garlic doughballs. Everything was full of flavour and freshly cooked. The manager also chatted to us and he was most personable too. We just wish we'd discovered this pub earlier in the holiday, but we shall be back just as soon as we can - probably next September! Be aware that there is virtually no parking immediately available.

We booked a table for 2 for 6 p.m. When we arrived,we went to the bar and told the person who we were and he then asked if we wanted drinks before he picked up the menus and asked us to follow him to our table. We were told that he or a colleague would come and take our order shortly.Once our order had been taken. We only had a short wait. When the food arrived. We were impressed! We had gone for the set menu of starter, main meal and dessert. The starter was a good sized portion as was the main and dessert. The food was very tasty. The pub has a narrow walkway up to the dining area. It's just wide enough for one person. Once you are in the dining area there is about 8 tables. There was an additional seating area beyond the first dining area and there was a small beer garden. The staff were all very nice and polite. They all seemed very busy and very happy to help. There wasn't a huge wait between being served our food and the plates being cleared.Everything seemed to work really well and the tables were cleared quickly for the next customers. There wasn't a lot of space in the bar area but it was enough for the people wanting to stand and drink at the bar. There are toilets. There is a sign in the first dining room which points to where they are.As nobody in our party used them. I just know there are toilets in the Inn.We were staying at the local Premier Inn and because they couldn't book us in to their restaurant due to a lack of staff. We booked a meal at the Ship Inn.We certainly were glad we did. It certainly was Premier Inn 's lossThe directions said that it would take about 10 minutes to walk from the hotel and it was exactly that! The Ship inn is a great eaterie and the staff definitely deserve recognition.A great evening.

Great atmosphere at the Ship, the staff couldn't be more attentive, Wednesday Pasta evening was excellent, the food was lovely, quality and quantity just right.Although it was a busy evening the staff worked so hard, personally I was sweating for them. Well done guys your hospitality skills definitely showed your commitment to the Ship. Definitely recommend, but please consider there is very little parking space, so shank's pony is a must.

Visited this pub on numerous occasions over the years whilst holidaying in Cornwall. Staff are very friendly and helpful, the food is excellent and they are dog friendly. You may need to book a table so always check, if you are in the area would definitely recommend.

Had an amazing midweek, three course set menu meal here. Starter - Dough balls, Main - pepperoni pizza and dessert - tiramisu. Under £20! There were several sides to choose from plus a normal menu if you did want a set one. The staff were accommodating, friendly and efficient. Wouldn't hesitate to return!
