“The pub of the village! Full with friendly, chatty locals. A great pint, nibbles available. They don’t sell food but are happy for you to take your own in, would definitely go back! A great villagey vibe- dogs welcome! A few benches out front to sit at which was nice to watch the world go by”

“This is an amazing antiques shop right in the heart of Alston, Cumbria. It has thousands of items which took us quite a while to look around before we bought what we wanted. Even if you do not buy anything it is well worth having a look as there are so many interesting things to see. The owner, Julie is very helpful and knows lots about what she sells.”

“The Angel is THE BEST pub in Alston. Great atmosphere, lovely friendly locals, staff and landlord are lovely and it's so reasonably priced. I love it here and I think if you're visiting the town you absolutely need to pay a visit to this pub! They have rooms above but it gets busy on the weekend so if you're alright for a few drinks and getting to know the locals it's absolutely worth it!”
