Our 3rd holiday to Alston this year and one of the thing's that makes Alston great is visiting The Turks. It's such a friendly welcoming local. As soon as you walk in you are sure to receive a friendly smile and greeting from the bar staff and locals. The atmosphere is warm and relaxing. There are even treats for the dog's from the owner's. Absolutely love the Turks Head, 2nd time we been to stay in Alston this year and both week's we visited The Turks every night. You couldn't wish to meet nicer landlord's and their daughter Kirsty too. All so friendly and welcoming and made us feel like locals. The regulars are so friendly and welcoming too. Can't wait to go again and visit The Turks

The pub of the village! Full with friendly, chatty locals. A great pint, nibbles available. They don’t sell food but are happy for you to take your own in, would definitely go back! A great villagey vibe- dogs welcome! A few benches out front to sit at which was nice to watch the world go by
