Visited early morning in March 2024 and it was already busy. A really lovely little cafe, which did a gorgeous vegan breakfast (maybe less bread and more hash browns?). The atmosphere was charming and loved the old black & white film footage of Popeye, Olive & Bluto on the wall. A great find and one I'll certainly return to.Vegetarian options: Does cater for vegans.

Waited to be seated and multiple members of staff were rude and acted like we shouldn’t be looking to come in for a coffee.

I would give this no stars if I could. Checked in advance that the dark hot chocolate made with oat milk would be vegan. I was told it was. It was brought out and as soon as I tasted it I knew it was cow’s milk. The waitress then came back and said it had been made with dairy. I explained I had taken a sip and there was a half hearted ‘sorry about that’. She didn’t seem at all bothered when I said I had been vegan for 8 years and do not have dairy for ethical reasons. I then asked for a refund which she appeared reluctant to give as she said it was being remade. Totally unimpressed with the awful service. DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU ARE VEGAN OR HAVE A DAIRY ALLERGY.

Visited copper pot for breakfast on our last day of our holiday in the Lake District. Beautiful, little setting with tasty, fresh food and friendly service. Kids loved the waffles and I loved my halloumi, mushrooms, sweet chilli on ciabatta.

Tasty food served quickly, from a menu with good choice and quality ingredients. Service was friendly and prompt, and the space was warm, cosy and relaxing to spend time in.Wheelchair accessibility: Door into the building off the street is narrow. Toilet is out the back and down and then up stairs - so not wheelchair-friendly

Been popping in for breakfast or lunch for years. Always high quality food, amazing coffee and the most friendly staff. One of the reasons we've been coming back to Ambleside every year for the last decade.

Called in for lunch today and what a lovely experience. The two gentleman serving were extremely friendly and the food was really lovely too. It’s a great little cafe with a relaxing atmosphere! What a difference great customer service makes to a cafe or restaurant! The younger guy with glasses (didn’t catch his name) was very accommodating and friendly. We will most certainly be back on our next visit to Ambleside! Thank you!

Great food, perfect atmosphere. Paying before eating makes it so easy to leave when you feel like it!

Our go to cafe whenever we visit Ambleside. Been a few times now and it’s always lovely. Fresh, hot, delicious food and a cosy log fire was just what we needed after today’s walk. Staff always very friendly too. We will be back!
