Don't normally review on Costa however on this occasion i had to post the above and beyond customer care given as the staff had hand decorated some takeaway cups.

Unfortunately I can only give Costa Ambleside 2 stars today. We frequent Costa shops all over the North West but were very disappointed with the wait for service, the toilet had no toilet paper, and we weren't allowed to bring our small dog in.Almost everywhere in the lakes, dogs are allowed. Also every other Costa we have been in there is a section for patrons, with dogs.A big shame, because my Vanilla Latte was gorgeous.

I have been on holiday visiting family. I went to costa around 4:10pm. Looked on website said it was open until 4:30pm. Was really disappointed. Had no sign up saying they were closing early. Should of kept to opening times. Very disappointing.

Don’t normally go into Costa in Ambleside, but I really enjoyed my visit today. Sat in the window seats which are bright and spacious.The manager was enthusiastic, happy, polite and very welcoming. In fact the manager made my visit as pleasant as any of the many quality tea rooms in the town.Lovely cup of coffee as nice as any Costa coffee I’ve had before.

They guy serving wasn’t English, he may have been Spanish, but he was absolutely fantastic. He was brilliant with all the customers and my hot drink was actually hot but drinkable. He also tried upselling in a really natural way. What a superstar. These days Baristas are so terrified of all the red tape around hot coffee too, more often than not it’s tepid. Anyway, what a pleasure

Saturday 15th July At 14:30. Went in to grab a take away coffee on my work break and as I got to the door a rude member of staff approached me and said we are (f*) shut and then said I’ll break your (f*) cap if you want coffee. I found out that this person is a cover member of staff from Bowness but I can’t remember what his name was. I will never be setting a foot in either the Ambleside Costa or even the Bowness one ! This is no way to speak to customers and especially the locals like that!

Very good service, staff is friendly and quite funny. I’m not a local but they helped me find my way around by explaining it to me, would recommend for anyone in the area
This Costa has a staffing shortage we arrived yesterday to find it was shut due to this. However on previous occasions there has just been one person doing everything, despite this we have always found them to be efficient, friendly and welcoming. So good staff, on this basis I would have rated 5 star but having found a parking spot and walked up to the store only to find it shut at 3.30 pm was just a little disappointing ?

Arrived at Costa Ambleside at 4:10PM in plenty of time of closing. Arrived at service desk with no service staff present. Waited around 10 minutes for someone to appear from round the back to state that they are closed and will not service any more drinks, despite the costa website and Google maps stating that they are open until 4:30PM. All over very poor, dissapointing service with no apology from staff?.

Went to Costa in Ambleside today and had to make do with paper cups as there was no one there to do any washing up apparently. It looked that way too, with used crockery piled everywhere. So we decided to sit outside and unfortunately in the outdoor seating area there was a manhole cover that was leaking raw sewage, the smell was awful! We moved seats so that we weren’t downwind of it, but that didn’t help much. People were walking through it, totally unaware that it was sewage.

Awful. Barista tried to make a cortado which ended up something like a milky flat white. Staff member insisted he was a fully trained Barista ! He said he didn’t have a smaller cup so filled it up to the top with milk ! Suggest he goes back to Barista school and pay attention this time. He had one job to do…..Costa really are the worst.
