The place was very crowded, and we ended up waiting for about 30 minutes, but the service at the front of the house was excellent. The staff member was really kind and managed to find us a table. Sadly, the food we ordered was a SERIOUS LETDOWN. The chicken seemed dry and old, so we asked the waiter to take it away as it wasn't fit to eat. We ordered a dish called "Railway Fried Rice" and a pad Thai with chicken. My rice was burned and didn't taste right; I could only eat the broccoli and left the rest. My friend's pad Thai lacked flavor, salt, and was overly oily. We decided not to cause a scene and left quietly. Considering the number of people dining there, it's hard to believe that the food served represents genuine Thai cuisine.

Probably the best Thai takeaway I've had in the UK - yum touy and pad himmaparr were dishes I've not seen before on your standard Thai restaurant menu, and they were both delicious. And the homemade Thai sausages were excellent! Our favourite takeaway in Ambleside!

What a find!! Central location in Ambleside, easy to book online. Great service, fantastic food - the best pad Thai I’ve ever had!!

My wife and I had a delicious meal here last night. Service very prompt and friendly. Will definitely come back when we're next in Ambleside.

Looking forward to this meal tonight as it was for a 60th birthday. We have had two great experiences before however, we were quite disappointed. Portions although tasty, were small. We were greeted well at the reception desk but when complaining how cold it was where we were seated, reasons given were that it is a "listed building" and we can't change the windows and "the radiator is not working". We were offered the service charge be removed, which was some consolation but we left without ordering any more food or drinks as it was so cold where we were sitting. Such a shame.

One of the best dining experiences we've had! Food and service was beautiful. Emily and Ann were lovely and very efficient. The building was interesting and decorated nicely, especially the high ceilings. We ate here for my 30th birthday and they really made it feel special. I had coconut rice and a seafood special stir fry. Very tasty! Highly recommend!

The best Thai food I’ve ever had. The Tom Yum soup was incredible! The prawn panang and classic stir fry was also delicious. The staff were super friendly and the place had a lovely atmosphere.

Decent food, (combo starter was delicious, wifes '1-chilli-rated' curry was DAMN HOT though, good job she didn't have a 3-chilli one!); good service on the whole, lovely restaurant (we ate upstairs, which seemed more airy). Good value for money, £75 for two including a couple of drinks (no desserts though, we were full). Two minor gripes were the maître d' was as grumpy a person as I'd met all day (everyone else was VERY nice however!), and the windows upstairs are HUGE so when it's cold outside there's quite a draught if you're sat next to one.

Excellent, authentic food, great service and décor.Fiun to practice my (rudimentary) Thai on the (very patient) staff.Recommended - a credit to the town.In case you're curious, the restaurant is named after the highest mountain in Thailand.

Eaten here twice now. Food is amazing and they always have some local Beers to accompany your meal. Will definitely be back again next time I am visiting Ambleside! Had chicken jungle curry - if you are into spicy Thai food I definitely recommend

After reading the reviews I thought I'd check it out for myself and I will say I'm glad I did. The building is almost church like and simply decorated inside ?.The service was spot on as was the food, I chose Thai Green Curry with Beef and vegetables which I thoroughly enjoyed.Highly recommended ⭐

The food was superb and dead quick we came in at 5 and had eaten starters and mains by 5.50. We didn't feel rushed at all and so had another main and desserts and left at 6.50. Portions were a good size smaller than some places but high quality.

This is the best Thai I have ever had!!Authentic, great attentive friendly service without being overly, perfect sized portions, beautiful inside and reasonably priced. We chose set menu for two with coconut riceAs a side note, having had such a great evening, I left an expensive bag behind, complete with usual items like purse, mobile etc in…(I don’t usually go out with this handbag for dinner which is how I didn’t notice leaving it behind) and as soon as they found it, they called me twice leaving a message.
