Great drinks pub opposite the railway station, fantastic sheltered seating available outside the front on benches. 4 stars only due to only 1 real ale on tap. Otherwise great!

Man behind bar with glasses was very rude to me and my friend when we visited. Shouted at us for using the toilets in the building and said it was rude of us to go without asking, we will not be going again. Highly do not recommend.

Pleasant and helpful staff. Alcohol expensive. Very busy so we ate later. Food pretty good and they catered for my vegan friend - they also cater for dogs - a menu of their own can you believe. Room clean, stairs going up not clean & smelt of dogs. Unfortunately very noisy at night village clock chimed half hourly from 4am and woke us all & then at 6am all the glass bottles & rubbish recycled below our window., unavoidable I know. Breakfast could have been better please don't soak mushrooms in fat you could squeeze it out.! inedible. Black pudding needed cooking more. Id like it if fruit & yoghurts could be available, also sweetener & margarine on table for those of us trying to get thinner.

We are very grateful to the Midland for our visit today. We were let down by another pub in the area and had all travelled a long way for a family gathering. The Midland allowed us to use an area of the pub very last minute for our reunion and to bring in food as they weren't serving at the time.
The barman was very welcoming and we are all very thankful to you!

Drinks only pub close to Appleby in Westmoreland train station . Well presented , sunny beer garden and high end decor indoors. I had a couple of pints of the Ghyll real ale on offer. It was a fantastic pint

Ok for a drink, they don't do any food, stopped off from a train ride, it would have been nice to get a sandwich I think they're missing out there, they could just buy some sandwiches in during the tourist period

Just a brief visit for a drink nice decor and and a lovely outdoor area, next to the railway stations so ideal for those on the special trips to Appleby. Tables separated and hand gel available with separate entrance and exit
