9 Bridge St, Appleby-in-WestmorlandMy husband & I were visiting Appleby for a few days and booked here after a recommendation from a staff member at our hotel.
I can honestly say it’s one of the best Indian meals we’ve had. The food was amazing, authentic, well presented & full of flavour. Even the water was good served with fresh fruit.
We were looked after by Miah & Miah, who were so friendly & very attentive. Really lovely people. I would definitely recommend & only wish the restaurant was closer to our hometown.

Crown & Cushion Inn
2 Boroughgate, Appleby-in-WestmorlandLovely old pub, very cosy and welcoming. Stayed over for one night in a clean, comfy bedroom with huge double bed. Great location and excellent staff.
Breakfast was superb served in breakfast room.
5 minute walk to free car park.
Bar area is nice but drinks are pricey.

The Three Greyhounds Inn
Great Asby, Appleby-in-WestmorlandCouldn't ignore the reviews so drove 6 miles over dark sheep infested roads in the rain, when we could have eaten back at the hotel. Glad we made the effort. Food was delicious, piping hot, service was second to none. Very helpful landlord. Wife said beer was good - I was drink driving on lemonade. Didn't hit any sui-cidal sheep. Plates and sweet bowls full and hot. A beautiful little oasis in a little peaceful village. Will we call again for food? Yes - in a heartbeat. Prices extremely good.

Tasty coffee ☕ and amazing cakes ?
So many cakes ??
The staff are so friendly and we had a long chat with one particular staff member, she told us of the best places to go in the local area .
The hub itself is cosy and comfortable with sofas and also tables and chairs .
The dogs are well looked after with dog blankets being provided so our pampered pooch was allowed on the sofa ?.
Well done to all concerned with running this place and keep doing what you are doing x

Cafe Sixty Six
Ketland Moor, Appleby-in-WestmorlandYou know those roadside cafés you see in movies, right off the highway, with a super relaxed and cosy atmosphere and unexpectedly great food? Café Sixty Six has exactly that vibe.
It’s dog friendly and conveniently located right next to the A66, and we had such a lovely dinner experience there. The mushroom soup was excellent, served with soft, buttery bread. The club sandwich was packed with flavour, the fries were perfectly fluffy, and the dessert selection was huge. Service was also impressively fast.
We felt genuinely welcomed and left happily full. A really great stop if you’re passing by.

The New Crown Inn
Bolton, Appleby-in-WestmorlandHad a great stay here, the owners and all the staff were very friendly and helpful and coped admirably when the village lost power during the busy early evening. Fire was blazing, lovely beer and good food and really buzzing with locals. Many thanks to you all, and I very much intend to return.

Long Marton, Appleby-in-WestmorlandWe popped in for a pint and some food early afternoon on Saturday. Food was freshly made and tasty - I had fish a chips and my wife had steak pie. Dog friendly too and nice atmosphere. Would certainly recommend the food and the beer choice.

Sandford, Appleby-in-WestmorlandStopped here for a one night birthday stay with my OH on our way home from Scotland, and I’d thoroughly recommend it. Large quiet room with a comfy bed, good solid pub dinner, and an outstanding breakfast. Friendly owners. We had our dog with us so booked a ground floor room, which had quick easy access to the car park and lane for a nice circular evening walk along the river. Well situated for some fantastic hill walking too the next morning (pictured).

New Inn at Hoff
Hoff, Appleby-in-WestmorlandOur walking group of 8 people have been here twice this week. We enjoyed the home cooked food, local beer and the homely atmosphere. The land Lord and his wife who did all the cooking were very friendly and chatty. We had some good laughs. Hope to be back next time when we are staying in the same area.

There was somebody in the middle of the room making the fresh pizza dough bases, the smell was intiving and on eating. The bases were fluffy and light. Plenty of topping, filling for all.
We pre ordered and didn't have to wait long before fresh. Steaming hot pizzas were in our hands.

Bit pricey and average overall, little watery but some nice chunks of root vegetables. Solid prawn crackers, on the thicker side without the excess oil; good for dipping and scooping.
Fairly quick service considering a lot of collections turned up and a good location for visitors in nearby accommodations.

The Sands, Appleby-in-WestmorlandJust stopped here for some food on our way home from a festival. Between us we had the fish and chips meal deal, battered sausages, curry and gravy. We loved it all and the staff who served us were very friendly. Thank you ?
