9 Bridge St, Appleby-in-WestmorlandI’m a regular at 7eventy1, and their second taster evening on Thursday was nothing short of fantastic. The experience was incredible, with amazing food and outstanding service throughout the night. The 12-course menu (if I counted correctly!) could easily rival anything you’d find in a Michelin-starred restaurant. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared and absolutely delicious. If you haven’t been yet, you’re truly missing out. This place is a must-visit—highly recommended!

The Appleby Hub
The Appleby Hub, Chapel St, Appleby-in-WestmorlandWe visited Appleby for the day and as we arrived at the station someone suggested that if we wanted a lovely place to go for a coffee we should go to "The Hub"
Well they were totally right .... absolutely fabulous food, service and atmosphere.....the homemade savoury scones were amazing.
You have to go......

Great Asby, Appleby-in-WestmorlandLovely country pub with a great atmosphere, plenty of dogs & great food. The portion sizes are large also!
Parking: Parking on village outside of the pub
Kid-friendliness: Changing facilities available in the toilets. Toilets were really clean too!

Cafe Sixty Six
Ketland Moor, Appleby-in-WestmorlandWe found this place on our homeward bound journey. The breakfast was delicious and they were very accommodating with my vegetarian breakfast. We also took some cakes with us for our journey home, which were also delicious. Staff very friendly and welcoming.The place was clean, tidy and warm. Toilet’s were very clean too. Would definitely recommend and will definitely return if that way again. Thanks plenty of parking too.

Long Marton, Appleby-in-WestmorlandDog friendly, both rooms and restaurant! Been visiting here for thirty-odd years and the new owners now let dogs come inside with their owners, great atmosphere, good food and the staff are great. The Masons at Strawberry Bank has always been a good pub, the dog friendly attitude makes it even better! Breakfast is fantastic if you are an overnight guest and the rooms are quirky with great views!

Dufton, Appleby-in-WestmorlandWhat a lovely wee friendly pub . On first night of our holiday (Monday) they didn’t serve food but there was a woodoven pizza van outside which was delicious and we were accommodated to eat in the pub. Second night delicious fish and chips and third night was pie of the day . All delicious . Friendly staff . Really welcoming pub with good choice of real ales and excellent spot for very scenic walks .

Sandford Arms
Sandford, Appleby-in-WestmorlandI stayed at The Sandford Arms in Sandford, Appleby in Westmoreland in Cumbria recently and it was a most enjoyable experience.
I had a good sized room with en-suite facilities. The bed was also of a good size.
The Sandford Arms in Sandford has a bar and restaurant.
The bar is well stocked with Timothy Taylor's Landlord ale and San Miguel lager on draught.
I had a most enjoyable meal in the restaurant in the evening of steak and ale pie with potatoes and vegetables(peas and carrots).
The staff are friendly and efficient at serving and the local residents are a friendly bunch.
The Sandford Arms in Sandford is a very convenient hotel if you are walking on the Warcop Defence Training Estate on one of the public access days to the Warcop Defence Training Estate.
The Sandford Arms is only a short walk or drive from the Warcop Defence Training Estate.
I would recommend a visit to the Sandford Arms in Sandford, Appleby in Westmoreland in Cumbria.

I stayed at The Sandford Arms in Sandford, Appleby in Westmoreland on Saturday 5th October 2024 and it was a most enjoyable experience.
I had just completed a walk around the Warcop Defence Training Estate and from Hayber Lane I drove the short distance to The Sandford Arms.
There is an ample sized car park which is free at The Sandford Arms.
There is also free wifi at The Sandford Arms.
My room was excellent.
Clean and tidy inside with en suite facilities.
There was also plenty of available plug sockets available to charge up your mobile phone and other devices.
I went downstairs to the bar which is well stocked with a good selection of beers.
I had Angelo Poretti Lager.
I had a meal and it was excellent.
To start with I had Cream of Mushroom soup which was excellent.
I then had as a main course salmon with potatoes and vegetables.
It was one of the best cooked salmon fillets I have ever eaten.
In the morning I had breakfast.
I had apple juice, coffee, toast and then beans on toast.
There is a full English breakfast on offer as well as a full vegetarian alternative if you fancy a larger breakfast.
The Sandford Arms in Sandford, Appleby in Westmoreland is an excellent place to stay.
I would recommend a visit to The Sandford Arms in Sandford, Appleby in Westmoreland.

Royal Oak Inn
Bongate, Appleby-in-WestmorlandQuirky is probably the best description for this pub/hotel. The atmosphere was excellent, as we're the staff and the accommodation. However, be aware that, as quirky as the accommodation is, if you’re taller than 5’ 6” and in the upper rooms (7, 8), watch your head. That does not take away from the comforts and facilities provided. The shower (electric) in our room (7) was good with plenty of height, too. The food in the restaurant was excellent and the bar was pleasant and homely. Alongside the pup is a tap room, with a decent selection of beers and spirits, and an ice cream parlour where they serve a great selection of homemade ice creams, well worth a visit on a hot day. Highly recommended.

Riverside Fish & Chip Shop Ltd
The Sands, Appleby-in-WestmorlandJust stopped here for some food on our way home from a festival. Between us we had the fish and chips meal deal, battered sausages, curry and gravy. We loved it all and the staff who served us were very friendly. Thank you ?
