The Appleby Hub, Chapel St, Appleby-in-WestmorlandFantastic venue for a coffee and cake break or even more substantial fare. But a pre loved book from the large selection for a couple of pounds which helps those not as able as we were . I loved it .

Cafe Sixty Six
Ketland Moor, Appleby-in-WestmorlandAbsolute gem. Come in and you are greeted with a smile, sit down and in a few minutes you are behaving your Oder taken. I can highly recommend the bacon chop. Food is fresh and red hot. Cracking cuppa and amazing lemon sponge.

New Inn at Hoff
Hoff, Appleby-in-WestmorlandJust a few short miles out of Appleby in Westmoreland en route to Tebay lies the settlement of Hoff and the Hoff Inn . Don't drive/walk on by , call in and meet the friendly owners for a memorable refreshment stop . Well worth it, great food and drink in a wonderful 16th century Inn on the Drovers route. Marvellous.

9 Bridge St, Appleby-in-WestmorlandOMG! Hubby and I arrived there on the 30th March 2024. We live/work in Appleby. We were utterly gob-smacked! We were greeted by lovely very smartly dressed gentlemen as soon as we entered, very polite and helpful. We were seated at the 2-perspon table at the middle windows. Background music was just that - nothing deafening or anything. Food was absolutely scrumptious! Hubby had 2 bottles of J2O and I had 2 bottles of Magners, all 4 were cold and tasty. All the staff are fantastic, including the chef (s) who really know how to cook top quality food! It was a fantastic bright happy ambience, we could have a laugh with the staff and we left just before 8:30pm. We walked in and wobbled out! Definitely 5 Gold Stars and 10/10 to them and £70.00 well spent! Thank you, 7eventy1 for such a beautiful night!

The Three Greyhounds Inn
Great Asby, Appleby-in-Westmorland4 of us Went for an early evening meal on Mother’s Day. Really cosy dog friendly country pub with live sports and seperate dining area. Were served by the friendly owners and were served good quality freshly cooked pub grub with generous portions. Highly recommend the steak pie with mash and gravy, burgers also are very good quality with proper homemade chips.

Long Marton, Appleby-in-WestmorlandOne word to sum this place up..... wow. I honestly don't get any of the negative reviews on here. We're not local and rugby was on and had no issue with any of the regulars and were very welcoming as were the staff....As for the food.... OMG, kids portions would be suitable for a teenager let alone my 5 year old she went for fish and chips and enjoyed every bit of it. As for me I went for Ribeye steak with peppercorn sauce... the steak was so good it felt criminal to use the peppercorn sauce but the sauce was on another level. The mushrooms were perfect as were the chips the only personal preference would be a more cooked tomato but where else could they improve if there wasn't something. Highly recommend one of the best steaks I've ever had.Kid-friendliness: Brilliant kids portion and very reasonably priced.

Sandford Arms
Sandford, Appleby-in-WestmorlandStaying just a short walk away we visited on Sunday afternoon after walking the dogs in the local area, the pub was quite after the lunchtime rush but we were welcomed by a lovely roaring fire and a very friendly server, after a couple of pints and a chat with some other guests that were staying in the B&B we left.We then returned on Monday evening for a meal, again we were met with a very friendly welcome, this time from the owners daughter, she showed us to our table and brought our drinks over to us. The food was absolutely gorgeous, we were served quickly but didn’t feel rushed at all. We had starters, main and pudding and devoured every crumb of it.The pub is very dog friendly and we would definitely recommend and return if we’re in the area again.

Eden River Cafe
5 Bridge St, Appleby-in-WestmorlandThis is the perfect place to sit out on the deck overlooking the river Eden and watch the ducks! Staff were really friendly and efficient. The fruit scones were delicious and the big pot of tea served with beautiful pottery mugs made it feel really relaxed. There is also inside seating.

Bolton, Appleby-in-WestmorlandFood delicious, we had the Indian Burrito and the Salmon .. yummy, friendly service, we ate in the bar area as we had our dog which was fine but it was quite cold especially when the band left the doors open to bring in their gear! Lovely place ?

Royal Oak Inn
Bongate, Appleby-in-WestmorlandWell, where do I start.I booked a table for 4 and a dog on a Friday evening. It was a surprise for my partners birthday he only thought he was going for dinner with me. We were greeted on arrival and sat immediately. As we arrived first I was conscious that my partner would suspect there was a much bigger table booked than for just 2 of us. So I snuck to the toilet and grabbed a member of staff (Fred) I explained it was a surprise and that I had cake in the car and asked if he could hide it in the kitchen and bring it out with candles lit and decorated with the extra cream and strawberries I had brung. Fred and Sarah that were working that evening did an excellent job at hiding the cake and getting it to the kitchen without my partner suspecting a thing.We weren’t without an empty glass as they provided excellent table service. I gave the nod and they bring out the cake all 3 staff members sang along with us as well as other guests. His birthday was made very special and it was all thanks to the staff at The Royal Oak, they went above and beyond! Very polite and friendly. The food were amazing! It were that good we even returned the following day for dinner and ordered the same food! Thank you all at The Royal Oak!If we visit Appleby again we will be sure to pop in and see you! 4 The Sands, Appleby-in-WestmorlandHubby and I live/work only a couple of minutes walk away from them and we love them! They're fantastic! Very nice hard working staff, place is clean and tidy, reasonable prices. I can't remember which number it is on their menu but the 10 inch chicken and pineapple pizza is GORGEOUS!

The Sands, Appleby-in-WestmorlandBest breakfast baguettes in Appleby. Other sandwiches are very good and good choice of fillings. Also fish & chips pies etc. Very reasonable price. Staff very friendly. Very clean quick service with parking outside.
