Where to start!? Didn't make a reservation as it was our first time going, but managed to snag a seat on a busy Sunday when the roast menu was on. Service was superb from start to finish & our order came out extremely quickly for such quality food. The roast beef dinner was superb, with the red cabbage being especially delicious and tangy. The halibut was also delightful and some of the best fish we have tasted. No shortage in portion sizes, we planned on 2 courses and we're happy enough after just a main, but were informed that the price was the same for with dessert, so both snuck in a sticky toffee pudding which was equally as delicious, paired with a small scoop of some of the most delightful ice cream I've had the pleasure of trying. Our servers were extremely polite and helpful, and the hard work from the chefs clearly shows in their food.Left a 30% tip and will definitely be back!

My partner and I visited the bistro this evening and I have to say it was absolutely beautiful! The food was incredible and the staff were lovely! Very minimal wait time and food was fresh and delicious. It’s lovely to have something unique added to barrow! I would definitely recommend this place and we can’t wait to come back!Vegetarian options: I am vegetarian and there was plenty of choice and it was all absolutely beautiful and clearly labelled which was great! I do wish they would include maybe one vegetarian protein dish like tofu or something similar but other than that it was incredible food and incredible staff!!! New fave food spot ❤️

Having travelled up on an early train from London to see the Barrow Panto, we were delighted with The Hive. The staff went out of their way to help us as we needed a quick turnaround and the food was so delicious, imaginative and exciting. We had the steak and the black pudding with some lovely fries. Great coffees and lovely sweet treats as well. Wish I lived closer! Would definitely recommend and wish we’d had longer to look round the shop downstairs.

As a regular customer of the Hive, tonight was my first visit, with friends, during the evening. We enjoyed a huge range of tapas from both the main and festive menus. Everything was exceptional! Stunning festive decor and atmosphere. Friendly service. And of course, top quality food! Particular highlights were the chilli and garlic prawns, beef short rib and the monkfish. Parmesan and truffle fries are a must and the various vegetable dishes were delicious. The best Christmas meal I’ve ever had!

First visit, lovely atmosphere, wonderful service, marvellous food, a totally perfect time. Highly recommended, and I'll definitely be returning soon... This was a lunch where we were not hurried out (unlike other venues)... The Breakfast menu looks highly tempting for next time. Many thanks.

Barrow town centre has been crying out for a lovely, quirky place like this for some time. Lovely interiors, attentive staff, and a menu that's a bit different from just the usual.Went there for brunch and had kippers with hollandaise but have previously had some delicious lunches here too. Coffee is lovely too.If I had any constructive feedback, it would be that the meals could have come out hotter, but I'm being picky.
