Lovely cafe, amazing sausage roll and chai latte. A welcome rest for feet and treat for stomach on a cold dull day. Worth the ferry ride just for this. Wish I had a bigger stomach to have tried more of what’s on offer.

10 minute walk from the ferry. We were delighted to find Joey's Café on the way to Claife viewing point. We had vegan sausage roll and vegan no steak bake. Both were warm out of the oven and tasty. All the cakes looked delicious too. Ideal stopping point for walkers and cyclists.

At Joeys or whoever runs the establishment.Your facility offers no parking for tourists and the National Trust carpark just a bit further along charges £5 an hour. And the only two bays you guys have is for your staff. Not prepared to pay the the fees for NT carparks so we left and no way to park atleast near your cafe so we left.Sorry to say its a business loss for your cafe as the first impression i get is deter customers away. If we cant park we cant drink or eat at your cafe. The NT got there nails so need into this Place they have scathed it. Capetalize on peoples hard earned pockets.

On arriving I was faced over the counter by a young man who just stood and stared at me. When you arrive at any venue for the first time you would like a moment to take in the surroundings and see what is on offer. He made me so uncomfortable that I just ordered a coffee. During the time he was preparing the drink it gave me a moment to look around and I noticed most food items were leaning toward vegetarian and vegan and I don't think it right that the National Trust should dictate to us what we should eat. When I sat down at an inside table, a laminated sign was tied to the table requesting we clear the table and use the bins provided. This doesn't take into account that the table was covered in crumbs and foodstuff left by previous diners. I would have cleared the table if I hadn't been rudely prompted and so left my cardboard cup and sugar packet wrappers on the table as my silent protest. Shall not be returning. Such a shame, as when I got off the ferry this cafe looked a quaint magical place and I was looking forward to a pleasant experience after scaling Claife Heights. What a disappointment.

This was an unexpectedly amazing find, one of the best cafes I've ever been to. Joey is an extremely skillful cook and it looks like he invested a great amount of time into everything that he does. You will find various types of vegan and vegetarian pasties, cakes and drinks (even Joey's Cafe beer!), all home made with his own twist. By the time we finished our little treat we regretted eating breakfast before coming, since we wanted to try many more things!

Cute little cafe run by local couple, great staff, great food and it's vegan too but you can't tell so it's healthy for you and the planet without knowing it?Great for a walk in the woods along the lake shore to Wray Castle from the ferry, pop up to Claife heights to look over the lake then pop in the cafe for coffee and a cake before heading to the castle for lunch. ?Vegetarian options: All vegan except the cows milk

I thoroughly enjoyed the pleasant atmosphere and delightful drinks at this establishment. The vegan menu is a highlight, offering delicious options for those with plant-based preferences. The added bonus of dog-friendly ice cream adds a unique and charming touch to the experience. Highly recommended for both vegans and canine companions!

Coffee was lovely, they didn't charge extra for oat milk. The staff were friendly.

We had a great experience at this particular Joey’s cafe. It’s rustic and outdoorsy which makes it so welcoming and cosy. We visited on a quiet and slightly rainy morning and it was perfect. There’s a car park close by and it’s a great base for a walk.I’d recommend sitting out in the “sun terrace” area which overlooks the lake with a hot coffee and cake. Lots of friendly wildlife such as robins who come sit on your table. The only downside no toilets as such, only a portaloo.

Really nice little cafe, if you're heading to the viewing point I would absolutely recommend a visit. The pasties were excellent and rank as some of the best I've ever eaten, a chickpea and bhaji pasty had never occurred to me beforehand but now I wonder how I ever managed before!Drinks were both good, flat white was well made. Everyone was friendly and pleasant.I cannot stress enough how enjoyable it was having the local birds (mainly robins and bluetits) come and land on the table with us. They were so friendly and it was something you rarely experience and a lovely moment all round. The only potential downside is the lack of a toilet and the pricing. However, they do have a signpost directing you to a nearby toilet so it's fairly a non-issue, along with the location being the sort of place you wouldn't expect a toilet anyway really. Equally with the price, the excellent location does usually come with a higher price - as it does here. Regardless, I would definitely love to come again and highly recommend it!
