Beautiful setting, friendly and welcoming atmosphere, lovely food, tasty and well prepared. Loved it Only comment, they were extremely busy and the staff were run off their feet. I felt sorry for them, as they really needed extra help.

I went to the Boathouse with my wife and 2 young children for dinner. We had a fantastic meal and a wonderful evening. The food was fantastic and the service great. The choice of meals for the children was much better than most restaurants and the quality of the food was top class. We will definitely return again when next in the Lake District.

Place is amazing! Food is always great and service is on point. Always a great atmosphere and can have a good meal here anytime (Breakfast, lunch or Dinner)Also New owners have done a class job and this place is the best it's ever been!!

Feel like it's a daytime place but made (quite well) for an evening bar.Doesn't look like a bar from outside. And when you call the number to open the barrier (as they tell you to) they didn't pick up....

Update - Dislike the new menu and preferred the old one. We visit and stay at the Marina twice a year for holidays. Food was very nice but prices quite steep. I had the Portobello mushroom pizza and wife had the gammon.

Do Not book a table here, we booked a table for today 3/12/23 for my dads 70th birthday meal, paid a hefty deposit. However the area has obviously had an a huge amount of snow fall, completely adverse weather conditions. We were staying at the Graythwait estate and were completely stuck in by at least a foot of snow. I called numerous times this morning to try to cancel our table and to explain the situation but there was no answer via telephone so I emailed to cancel. I later called again and asked to speak to a manger to seek a refund to be told “ I’m just a staff member you need to speak to an owner to get a refund. I’ll get someone to call you straight back”I followed this up again by an email to be ignored again.Absolutely disgusting behaviour considering the police advice to not travel and being completely snowed in ourselves.Photos attached of the snow we were expected to drive through to not loose our deposit.

A very wet midweek evening in November so the restaurant was very quiet. Service was very good, staff friendly and polite. Food (steak and chicken) was really good. Well worth paying a little extra compared to the more 'fast food' type pubs in Bowness. Would definitely eat there again

Nice cozy venue, it would've been perfect if they'd had at least one real ale on.Re above comment :Ok, that's good to hear, that makes it perfect then! We must've just been unlucky when we called, which was at a quiet time of the week.

Food expensive & not amazing. Had Caesar salad & there was more chicken than salad & not much dressing. We went for a family meal, 3 men were happy with their meal although they also thought it a bit pricey.Parking: Not parking on site but there is a post & display across the road. Gets busy during peak season.

Staying at the Marina we frequently eat at the Boathouse and gave always received an excellent level of service. The food is amazing and although the vegetarian options are limited, the standard of food is of a high quality. Highly recommend.Vegetarian options: Great vegetarian breakfast and starter options available, limited choice on main menu. Food delicious.Dietary restrictions: Lots of gluten free options available, separate menu plus changes to main menu options offered.

The only award I will be giving this restaurant is the award for being the most unorthodox restaurant I’ve eaten in. Reasons why this is one of the strangest restaurants I’ve eaten in: • The waitress pointed to a table for me and my fiancé to sit at when we entered (instead of being shown to the table like most restaurants do • For a couple, we were pointed to a table for ten to sit at. Yes, you read that correctly. A table for ten. • We both ordered a soup of the day. It was really tasty but it was piping hot and I ended up burning my tongue. That said generally the food was really tasty and the staff were friendly enough

We visited on 8th October 2023 as a group of 9 x friends ordering a mix of Sunday roasts and main menu food. Food on the whole was good. Few things were that the cauliflower cheese was lacking and when asked for more gravy they could have brought one each rather than 2 x teeny tiny jugs. Service was slow in taking the order and were sat at the end for 20 minutes before having to ask for them to clear the table. We would have had desserts if it didn’t take as long to clean it table. Also wasn’t a fan that a compulsory service charge had been added to the bill considering the lack of it. Overall, I wouldn’t come back and think there are better places close by.
