Stayed here 1 night as a stop over on way to Glasgow and so glad we did. Hotel is immaculate, very clean and the room was great with all we needed. Staff were amazing and so helpful on reception and friendly and the dining room staff at breakfast where exceptional. Emily was brilliant as my dad is gluten free and a gluten free breakfast was provided no hassle and brilliant. Would 100 percent recommend staying here for the price it's a gem of a hotel

Very outdated hotel. Unfortunately there were problems with the water, but this was resolved.The staff was very friendly and tried hard, the breakfast was OK and the location was very good for train travelers.Walkability: Right next to the train station.

We stayed for one night (Saturday) on 17 Feb 24. The staff were very welcoming and hospitable and dealt with our slightly early arrival by checking us in early, which was very pleasing. The bathrooms in the hotel rooms are a little tired, and due to the location, we found it to be quite noisy through the night from the closing time footfall. However, for the price, these are very minor complaints.Walkability: Right next to the train station and smack bang in the middle of town.Food & drinks: Drinks were reasonably priced but the breakfast was pretty disappointing due to the lack of hot food.

Loved this hotel, very convenient, great room with lots of space and amenity. Easy to get to and plenty around nearby.I've given 4 stars rather than 5 tho as rather than a double bed my room was two single beds zipped together. Sleeping with my partner was v difficult with this. I'd happily stay there again but would keep this in mind when booking.

For the price paid, this is a standard basic room which was fine. Needs updated as very old fashioned furniture and curtains.The bed was really hard and not very comfortable unfortunately. There was only one towel available on the bed, there were 2 of us - later found the other in the wardrobe.The bathroom is really outdated and I was appalled at the toilet roll being on the wrong way ? Whichever your loo roll preference, it is ALWAYS over, especially in hotels (I used to be a hotel housekeeper).Staff were friendly enough and we never used the bar or breakfast facilities.Rooms: Needs refreshing and comfortable beds.

Mirror in ensuite above the toilet cistern, had to shave in the washbasin at the window and go to the mirror to see when having a shave. Car parking charge for residents £12 for 24 hours, which I thought was ridiculous, it should be free I feel.

Great location right next to the station Botchergate a minute away with all the pubs etc. Lovely old building, inside a bit tired, needing some TLC. Didn't spoil for us though.
