There yesterday meeting pals another couple they got there just before us to be told that the table our name was attached to had eaten & gone ...which was odd as we booked at 3pm and it's only 5 to 3...so we turn up and that issue is put to bed and sorted...very quiet tbh in there when we arrived.So eventually get our orders taken (woefully understaffed young 18yr boy running about like a mad man cleaning tables taking extra orders also taking walk in customers the lot basically, unreal tbh. (this isn't a cheap place so we expected to be not so hectic when quiet) so eventually get our orders which must've taken half an hour probably more and we can see there's 2 people making the pizzas. No one actually looking see if the three tables occupied wanted more drinks or were happy etc ...Eventually got served and tbh they were Luke warm so god only knows what was going on behind that counter maybe playing 'jenga' or cards ....so we've ended up with a £120 bill for pizzas and 2 drinks each due to delay of food ?, One more staff member would've made such a difference ...there's plenty nice Italians in our town will go back to those in future.check 'pizza express' on Trustpilot 3 stars ✨ not good anywhere it seems.Ps the staff we were in contact with were lovely but stressed I must say that, obvs not there fault, understaffed.Go if you must but much nicer & cheaper lovely Italian restaurants in our town. ❤️

Ordered a pizza at 4:45 and it only came at 7:15, absolute shambles of a restaurant was told because I’ve waited so long they’d have to remake it anyways so I cancelled my order , next thing the app says it’s on its way. It came and was stone cold , the chicken literally was grey and the pizza was rock hard. Fancy waiting 2 and a half hours for a piece of inedible sh*te , don’t know if I’ll get a refund since it eventually came but still a shan.

Visited last night with a synchronised ice skating team. From the planning ahead by Dan to the service on the night from himself, Helen and the rest of the team - we cannot thank you enough. Great food, great service, great care! Much appreciated and nothing was too much trouble, dietary requirements catered for and awareness of time restrictions thought through! Top class - thank you very much !!

Called in for the first time for a while, I was told to download the app and get some free dough balls so I did. I also had the new polo pizza, it came but the edges were a bit too well done (burnt) it actually cut the roof of my mouth. On payment I said I have a pizza express voucher and would like to claim my free dough balls on the app only to be told I was not allowed to do both I questioned this but was told again I could pay by a gift card and use the app. So I ended up paying for the dough balls, had I known I wouldn't have ordered them. It left a sour taste which was a shame as the staff were good until this point.

Terrible service. Waited over 15 minutes before someone acknowledged us then nearly an hour to get our pizza. More deliveries were going out than people getting their meal inside the restaurant. One of the staff spent more time talking to her table of friends than serving customers. Lovely food but not worth the wait. Disappointed ?

Jack was our waiter this evening and he was AYE-MAZING! We had such fun, service was excellent and the food was totally delightful. Had the American Hot with roquito peppers and n'duja sooooo good! Love pizza express carlisle. My number one ?

Just popped in here during a long journey back home, hoping I could get my favourite Pollo Pesto with a glass of white. All worked out well - food was delicious and the service was friendly and polite.
We arrived when it wasn't busy, there were maybe another five tables taken.It took fifteen minutes get the drinks order in and another twenty minutes to get the attention of the server to order the food.It took nearly an hour for the food to arrive, despite a gentle reminder that we'd waited a while.The food was really good but unfortunately spoiled by the wait.

Pizza Express Carlisle is one of my favourite places to eat, the restaurant is always clean and welcoming, the food is amazing and the service is second to none. I have never had a bad experience here, the team are always warm and familiar, today we were served by Jack who was friendly and attentive. We have been served by Jack on several occasions & the service Jack provides has been exceptional each time; team members like this are 100% the reason for repeat custom. We are also frequently served by another wonderful team member who is phenomenal, she even remembers my order! I just don’t know her name but the Carlisle team really are exceptional.

Walked in at 5pm was very quiet and asked for a window seat and was ignored and sat in the niddle ordered a chicken caesar salad came a bowl of lettuce with 20p worth of chicken mixed in for £13.95 and 30p worth of garlic mushrooms for 8.95 then got a sharer pizza for £17.95 asked for no olives and guess what came with olives topping was very sparse must be harx up for ingredients won't be returning nor would i recommend shocking

Cold burnt pizza, very limited stock available, no ice, lemonade, merlot, peppers, garlic mushrooms, roulade oh and don't forget no ice cream!poor waitress couldn't apologise enough as everything I'd asked for was out of stock, I wouldn't of minded if what we did receive was burnt, cold and inedible, shocking value for money!
