We stayed in the countryside near Carlisle and fancied a takeaway. I phoned The Maharaj but as we were in the middle of the countryside my phone signal kept dropping out. I got a text then saying I could order through text , I did. The food arrived and was excellent quality and portion size. The person at the end of the text was very helpful and the delivery driver was friendly and polite. We will definitely use them again when we are back in the area .

Been eating Indians for over 30yrs and this one takes some beating. Great portions great service, my go to takeaway at the moment. Try it, you won't be disappointed.Parking: If you know where to good there's ample parking.

Working in the area and I will honestly say this is one of the best Indian curries I have experienced, I live in the north east (South Shields) have the best in our door step.I had garlic chicken and my husband had chicken madras with rice and chips,Very good quality meat and no oil to be hovering about.The most fresh door to door delivery and the best garlic and chilli nan I have ever tasted.Thankyou

Ordered on Uber Eats, food was ready for us to collect. Good tikka massala, quite sweet but that's what you expect. We both ordered the meal for one but frankly there was so much food you could share it between two so I have to say it is excellent value for money.

10/10 for all their dishes I've tried so far!. For me though, the lamb Rogan Josh is the best I've ever had, the sauce is bang on and the lamb so tender and juicy. Absolutely amazing! Love it!

Firstly, please note I dont live in the area just work and stay in hotels.The Maharaj, the food wasn't too bad, naan, madrs sauce, chicken biryani and chips, the chips were a let down as they were under cooked, abit longer and they would have been perfect, but not going to say avoid as i said the food wasn't too bad infact try it you may enjoy it.Too the driver, this is why i've given 3 stars, in hotels never leave the food in reception and then ring the customer to tell them you've left it there, you were about to do the same thing again when you were at the correct hotel, luckily i was stood outside and asked if you were from Maharaj, use ggogle maps or satnav, both hotels have different post codes, i know as i stayed at the one you delivered to first. Gripe over.

Ordered food for four people tonight and it arrived promptly and piping hot. The food was fresh tasting with delicious flavours. Lots leftover for tomorrow due to generous portions. Did not disappoint, well done!

We phoned for a delivery they said food would be 1 hour wait we waited over 2 hours we had to phone them to tell them to hurry the order up when food arrived it was well over priced the prawn starters was most certainly off the prawns was like mush in the centre they was awful no taste the lam bhuna was tasteless not even like a curry at all chips was undercooked will not order from them ever again we phoned to complain about how disgusting the meal was he then said we never have any complaints in 2 years if you look on trip advisor there is manny more complaints as you can see the gentleman on phone was not at all helpful he said next time I order he will sort it out what ever that ment but didn’t offer to refund any on the money back for this order or replace the meal we found hair in the rice this will make you sick disgusting restaurant all round terrible customer service

AVOID! Avoid! Avoid!Collected a meal on Saturday night, but I must admit it all went in bin, all I got was onion gravy with some chicken pieces dumped in, naan bread undercooked, stinky popodoms ( come on you should change your oil regularly) . All I can say is, it’s very overpriced and worthless, there are few good places out there which offer you better taste and good price.
