I come here once a week for a chai tea latte (which is yummy) to wind down after a therapy session (primarily as it's the only coffee shop open nearby at 7pm). Each time I am disappointed by the mess of the place (agree with previous reviews of tables not being cleared, toilets not clean or working fully, mud on the chairs from feet or paes, litter on the floor). The individual staff I encounter are helpful, but I am often left waiting to be served (it feels sometimes the drive through clients take precedence). Several times the food for sale has been removed more than an hour before the stated closing time. The place feels under-staffed and uncared for.

Called in today and the place was absolutely filthy.Food on the tables, food on the floor and food on the seats. Does this establishment never get cleaned.To make matters worse one person had their dog sitting on a seat.The place needs to be shut down and given a deep clean.

We had a quick stop here to grab an Iced Latte and Mocha before heading for a walk at Bassenthwaite Lake and found the service to be great. Don't understand all the negative reviews but I suppose we don't frequent enough to notice these things - didn't notice dirty tables or the building being cold during our visit.
No toilet roll in the gents toilets. 11am in the morning, clearly not been checked prior to days opening. Not good. Lots stars on service, just hand a coffee, no food. Atmosphere; not quit singing and dancing, 3 customers sat down chatting.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The cafe was spotlessly clean. Our coffees were perfect and we could sit outside with our mastiff.
